Any update on how I can get any of the written plotlines to trigger? >60 hours in game and all I have found is the one branched faen plot and the estelle one.

I am very sorry. This does not seem good.
It really is clear that you are perceiving a far different experience than the average.
I am sad to hear this. It sounds like the game has been a big miss for you.

If you land on Faction Zones, they will trigger eventually. Some, like the attacking Hunna in the Starport, the stranded Prospector, and the Explosives smuggler, will trigger pretty early on. Others, like the De Rivesh Legacy and Call for the Strong, require specific Faction holdings, De Valtos and Cadar respectively.

I didn't really count the stranded prospector or explosives smuggler as "plot", since they are a one time encounter with no followup. I have taken the prospector's claim and bought the explosives, but nothing happens after that. In another thread I mentioned I visited every Cadar world in the starter map without triggering anything. That's why I am asking "how long is eventually".

Not just in orbit?

Yes, I landed at every one.

These events normally come up during general gameplay. Just play like normal and you should typically see them. More will be added as we get closer to the end of Early Access and, I suspect from the history of TBG; a great many more side stories in the years to come.
You may not be aware that while they update pretty heavily, they also continue to update their games for years after each game releases.

By starter map, do you mean the entire galaxy? Or just the starting Cadar quadrant? I have found pretty much every plot in any of my games that make it past the Duel without specifically looking for them.

The entire galaxy. I did just trigger de rivesh, but I have almost 80 hours and no sign of Call of the Strong or Crowned Smuggler. I guess "rabble crusher" is the one stop mission to kill this demogogue "moon", which I did. Is "stranded merchant" the guy who sells explosives, or the woman who sells her mining stake? Both of those are also "one stop" missions.
I did find a mission called something close to "forgotten secrets" which requested to explore on four consecutive xeno sites. I did that, expecting there would be something interesting, but it was just four explore missions and then a reward with no other text or cutscene.
I'll keep trying for call of the strong and crowned smuggler. When I do find them, like de rivesh, they are really neat and they give me something to look forward to.

In the saved game you sent me -- (1) De Rivesh Legacy had not triggered yet (keep playing) and (2) Stranded Merchant hand not triggered yet (keep playing) and (3) Call of the Strong had already triggered. I'm looking into where and when it triggered, but you'd already seems its invitation and possibly ignored it?

Thanks, but that is surprising. When I land at a planet, there would be a cutscene to tell me it started, right? Can you tell which planet has the trigger so I can go back and look?

I'm looking into where and when it triggered Yes there would be a cut-scene. I will share more as I get around to digging in more.
