Officer Genious - directory of information is generally be overwhelming. But yes, a Consult the Officers button that will help guide you through situations, new UX, suggest things to do, help you see where you're struggling, and teach you about your people and the world. Click whenever you feel like it. There will eventually be a full Lore Library like Templar Battleforce, but that is NOT a tutorial answer. I LOVE this idea, for the 'consult officers' button

fallen : I guess I'm not understanding 'access 4'. Does that mean permit level 4, or something else? I can try again hopefully tonight, but I'm pretty sure even with an Ironclad access, I was getting level 1 permit access. Which wasn't doing much, leaving Xeno and other items as still illegal/without-access to trade

The one in particular is 'normal'.. Thankfully to a degree, else I'd have lost my captain a few times over. Just seems like the Juror may be particularly prone to a 'lucky shot' issue. However, it only has seemed to happen with the one faction, which is what stands out.

I played a good bit over the weekend finally, and found a few things. 1) When 'looting' a ship after you win. I didn't find any option to get rid of what's already in my cargo. If I have, say, biowaste, and want to get xeno artifacts, would be REALLY nice if I had that option to dump cargo first during the battle-end bit.
2) Multiple times (3+) during the game. I had a Juror, and went up against a larger ship. Pirates who were just going to attack. EVERY time, (alta mesa clan I think it was). We'd trade fire, I'd get 3 hits, to their 1, maybe 2... And either my captain would die, the engines would go out, or something equally 'lethal'. Any single hit damage was never above 100. Kind of a serious pain to lose via bad luck that many times, against the exact same faction. Kind of odd too.
3) Does each faction have at least one contact to give a max-level trade permit? I've got at least two factions so far, Thulun being one, where the only trade-permit contact I have, will only give up to a level 2. Rather limiting there.
4) Black Market access. Now, don't get me wrong, I know it's a bit of a luck thing to get in. But here's my current issue. I have max-level trade permit. And Ironclad (max) level access to the Black market. WHY is it that the only options I get for actual market access are level 1 or 2 permit trades (spice or free trader I believe)? I could see potentially one level lower, or max level (without any talent boost) being the same level as the access-allowance. But to only be allowed barely more than base-trader status in a black market when I can do vastly better normally, just doesn't make sense. As a side-note, it's due to this that I've been trading 9+ xeno artifacts for probably close to 2 in-game years now, as I can't get a place to offload them, even WITH a black market. I tend to prefer faction planets for the potential rep-boost of high value trades over indie worlds, but even most of the indie worlds won't let me trade these.
I think there's at least one more, but this is good for now.

I see where you're coming from Craig Rittenhouse, but there should at least be a 'safe medium' somewhere in there. Hell, people don't NEED to go to a bar to drink. And yes, too much and they'll get drunk and do dumb shit. BUT, should still be able to spice SOME to get contact, not only be able to do it if you need morale-boost. That was one thing in original ST. Had both spice and entertainment, and could keep going, even if technically not needed for a bit. Now there's a reason to do it. (talents)

I do agree it is a bit too difficult. to date, I've never yet succeeded in selling any Artifacts.
Perhaps with an explorer/ex-explorer/Military/etc type contact, you can direct-sell to them (like with intel) with high-enough rep and/or rank in their affiliated faction? Still kind of screws a low-level explorer, but it could be an idea.

RL's been busy, I'll try to load it up soon and try a few times, even though it has been rather killing my rep with this one guy, lol.. All in the name of testing

I only use Android, so yes for that. Haven't used it on my phone, prefer the bigger screen of the tablet. I've never touched permissions. The tablet is wifi only, so no other data connection. When I use data for it in the first place.

1) I'm not getting an option to share a crash report. It just goes to desktop 'this app has stopped working'. 2) This is the only app it's been happening on, and only during Black Market access attempts 3) I'll try a few more times and see if there's any particular card(s) that's the same across all of them, though some will always be there (generic gain access) I'm not entirely sure, but I think it happens before the cards start to vanish, but I'll have to double check.

I've tried getting into a black-market a few times now. It does not crash every time. HOWEVER, the only times it works for me, is when I get a 'failure' card of some type. After about 15+ attempts, I've never successfully had a market-access (and I've had times with 4 access cards). At those times, the game crashes to desktop

I'm looking forward to doing more with this. Sadly RL has had me so busy I've not had time to do much, and all the restarts early on wore me out a bit. Here's to a fresh start with a lot more going on.

I just installed the latest version, and saw the 4 preset templates. I chose to make my own. I went in, and the Explorer template is still set across the board on the right-hand side where it gives the summation of the template. IE: explorer skill is 10.... But I haven't set skills yet. I went in to choose contacts, there are 6 pre-set contacts.
