When playing MnB, the Fennian ladder is different. (you don't have access to the King v-chip for example). Maybe you could post here what it's look like ? You do get The King's V-chip now, there was a patch a few months ago which resets your rep when you leave the tunnels, so it's below the trigger for getting his chip.

A small, but possibly impossible, request. Just started playing CK again after a break full of HoS and ST4X. First I've played since we could sell duplicate V-chips. Is there any way of having the list of contact in the PDA screen sorted alphabetically, to make it easier to see if you have already loaded the a contact's chip? Failing that, is it possible to not consume the chip if it has been loaded before?

I'm sure that contact has been in the game for ages. I'm fairly confident I got it in one of my 1st games, unfortunately, I can't check as I lost all my old games when I upgraded my phone last month. Probably a good thing as it was getting a bit cluttered.

PS. Personally. I think it was microscopic fragments of "sock fluff" - vented out of the exhaust port, from the ISS's built in tumble dryer. AAAAAAARGH! The sock puppets are taking over!!!!!

Is there even any way to indicate whether a planet is likely to have fast or slow population growth? Some planets seem to sit on 1-2 for ever and others seem to grow so quickly that I'm struggling to keep up with demand for Hab Units and I don't get any time to build factories to make use of all those extra people to generate extra CP.

Am I right in thinking that any given carrier can only have repair facilities OR refuelling facilities, or am I doing something wrong?

I do have extra finger puppets, if anyone wants them.... Presumably extra finger puppets are only useful if you have polydactyly... (extra fingers)

Is there any possibility at present, or in the future, of being able to board the ships and salvage xeno technology. I imagine this would work better as bonus RP, in the same way as anomalies work, rather than a free technology like in Civ (Sorry Cory, I know you hate Civ comparisons, but it was the seminal 4X series). This could also be implemented if you conquer a planet. Perhaps using a system similar to DV in CK, whereby the more tech you already have (possibly based on total RP spent) the less chance of finding anything novel.

In the Empire Summary>Politics screen, headed Faction "Conflicts" you get a list of trade routes, embargoes, wars etc. To left of each entry, there is space, I presume, for an image, but instead there is a two tone pink square with "dia_opt" in it. Is this just indicating artwork that isn't available yet? Is it an error? Or is it meant to be like that? It happened on the free version and had persisted on upgrading to elite.

I am NOT trying to build a Civ clone. Sorry Cory, I think I touched a nerve there. I was just bouncing ideas around. I'm happy with the setup as I tried to make clear in my post, it would be hard to stay in story and allow accelerated builds. Any comparison to Civ should be taken as a compliment.

You young whipper-snappers! You're not a REAL gamer unless you've played a text based golf simulator on a dumb terminal with a printer for output instead of a screen with the actual mainframe on a different continent! Or a text based lunar lander simulator on the same set-up. I might just accept 3D Monster Maze in the ZX-81 if you ask nicely.

The only way I could see it working within the story would be to have some way of banking idle CP from other worlds, to represent manufacture of basic components (bricks, beams, panels, etc), which could then be shipped to the building site. This would be expensive, time consuming, and would need a network of transporters, so I don't know how practical it would be for an emergency quick build. But it might work for longer term planning.
Didn't Civ 2 have a system where you could disband unwanted units in a city and use a fraction of their construction cost towards the current project?

I find the easiest way to limit the number of spiders they can summon is to send Vraes at them with a big pointy thing.
It's hard to summon when you're a kebab!
