Dammit, I knew I shouldn't have posted that everything went smoothly! The "Ridge Freighter" mission seemed so easy, and there was this whole map to explore... I figured there must be more to this mission than stated. There was. A 30 turn time limit that I'd missed in the briefing. OOOOOPS. No more IRONMAN for me on this campaign :-( ... and ANOTHER one. This time there's no indication anywhere that you have a limited time to get to the airlock after placing the charges on the "Logicus Lifter". Be warned!

Status update on Captain Power and his Soldiers of the Future:
Stardock Raid completed successfully with no losses or retries. In the next Tour of Duty, morale is faltering among the scouts. There is grumbling about Blastarr, the new Neptune trooper, "hogging all the kills" and being favored with a heavy neptune cannon while they're still wearing their basic scout armors on this extended deployment. Captain Power needed to take corrective action after Blastarr was left with his back exposed to the xenos on multiple occasions. Threats of being benched like a useless veteran soldier finally made the scouts fall in line and the mission is progressing smoothly.

While running through the tutorial for the White of their Eyes challenge, I came across an interesting bug:
In the tutorial mission where you get two secondary objectives (one for a scout's sidearm and the second for heavy leviathans) I ran my captain across the square with the leviathan objective a second time (because it was the best route) and saw the objective text again. After finishing the level, I ended up with 4 heavy leviathans where I remember only getting two on a previous play.
It seems this objective isn't removed when you get it, unlike other text or mission squares.

Captain Power and his soldiers of the future stand ready to compete!
They're somewhat confused that their shiny CGI outfits have been replaced by giant lumbering heaps of metal. But hey, anything's better than being canceled and these guys are ancient relics as much as their gear, so they'll be fine...
I'll go for normal mode and see how far I get.

Yeah, that's really impressive, doing everything yourself. And so many games at the same time. I'm pretty amazed you keep churning out updates for all those games and still manage to create new ones too!
I can code a bit, though it's mostly simple applications where business logic is key. Graphics and realtime stuff always does me in when I try something more than the prefab Windows libraries deliver in Visual Studio. I took a look at Eclipse and the Android SDK and it was immediately clear to me I'd have to do like a zillion tutorials to get up to speed with all that's going on in even a simple game.

I think Templar Assault is awesome. It's actually the first game I decided was worth paying for. Love the turnbased stuff and the constant stream of xenos in those cramped corridors. In fact's it's made me wonder if I could make a game like this (in a parallel universe where I'd actually have the time for it).
So I'm wondering what tools are used to make Templar Assault and the other Trese brothers games. Do you write all the tools/editors yourself or do you use something like Unity for the basics?
Btw, please just let me know if you don't want to share that information, I respect that too.

I made an account on this board just to second this. Even though my Galaxy S3 has a decent screen size, fat-finger syndrome still has made my templars go all Leroy Jenkins on the xenos. It's kind of a shock when your Neptune is preparing to mow down a hallway full of xenos and suddenly he runs right into their arms.
