So uh... If the druid and monk stay tied, does that mean we're gonna get an unarmed/staved combat druid? Cause that would be pretty cool too! Some kind of pacifist Druid which are forbidden from using weapons, would be cool 😎

Why they have standard sound for shooting, shouldn't they sound like flamethrower, like hydras?

To Cory :I have Star traders, Star traders 4X, Heroes of Steel, Templar Battleforce all bought and and with most iap ;-)
to fallen :Paladin is slightly better and with this new hammer he is fitting main, major and biggest dmg dealer role. I have only two points into single heal. So he is just crushing everything with that hammer-relic. But zerkers as debuffer/tanks are too good but I have less games with them, because I use paladin every time I can. Unbalancing blows are so strong.
However I would say the combination of Staggering Blows, Unbalancing Blows and Bladeweave with high autoblock, armor/deflection is what makes melee squad superior because you end with few templars per level but they can handle themselves alone very well.
And also I don't know if xenos use theirs brainz or what because many times happens to me that around my templars was horde of 10-20 xenos but only one or two came to attack me. Are they scared of attacking melee specialist, because it looks like they are.

I would like to share how i feel abut new melee updates, they are AWESOME ! After latest patch i started new squad with idea to get most melee templars for every mission from start. For most levels it was basically Captain(Shield and sword), Paladin(Hammer) and some scouts and/or soldiers... It strated to be even more fun when i get chance to deploy one or two zerkers(of course dual-axe both) then it looks like we are BADASS templars and we just walk through xeno hordes all day long for example no death 110 kills and 37 turns for Kaldun: Factory Core South and i even cant say how traitor bunker was easy, tutorial was harder. Everything is very easy even on ironman run because no melee specialist died during my campaign (im just in Mok Prrime now )... For me deflection captain debuff, warding fire, and all AOE melee attacks (unbalancing blows for zerkers) was everything needed, many times i send my scouts or soldiers on suicide mission and play just with captain, paladin and sometimes zerker... I have heaviest armor (Slayer-core) and deflection shield for captain and max warrior and fortitude so he soaked all possible hits often zero dmg... and zerkers with that new defensive dual axes buff ,glance field ,adept-proc could tank also very good but wasnt avaible all the time... And staggering blows is really best talent... not op, but very balanced. However i now cant play other then full melee squad, another nice update thank you very much guys

Thnx for advice but I simply don't like Kincaid and the idea of dodge... I usually play real tank in every rpg. Could dex Vreas with Stone skin, phalanx, tank as good as Kincaid plus he will have more Hp and Armor? However i will definitely use that Selen it will fit that party really good. And what next skill for kjartan? Make him full support with CA or add Firestorm or Imolation?

I don't want to create new thread and i think my question fit there What is party combo what can absorb most punishment? I was thinking about this:
Vreas with max constitution, max phalanx and max stoneskin...
Fyona with max constitution, max consecrated defense, max shield of cortias, max righteous fervour...
Kjartan max pureflame shield, max meteoric shockwave...
Im not sure about character development and I really don't know what stealth character should help this group maybe tamilin because they will lack massive dmg. And can this idea of tanking most of dmg be playable on Nightmare and maybe on Ironman? Can someone pls help me because I don't want to put a lot of time in them and then find they are unplayable or weak...

I would like to know if there are players who play impossible frequently? What strategy do you use? I play all games on hardest possible difficulty level so... This is my most successful combo. The core of not only survival but easy life is Moklumnue/DeValtos combo.
Moklumnue expand on blue and white stars because they usually get low rolls and end low to mid quality. However this is not problem because faction bonus + orbital exchange can make nice profit very soon (what is important on impossible).
DeValtos expand on red and yellow stars. Expanding with this combo must be done aggressively so after you got second population (so you got 2Cp) you start building colony ship and then around every 20 turns for both factions. You get free money for every colony even without upgrades.
Interesting fact is that almost 100% there is third faction constantly in spy war with Moklumnue or DeValtos and in aliance with second so it makes politics really easy. I don't know if it is bug or i just force third faction in doing so.
And I almost forgot for maximum power third faction slot is military focused tech tree or SteelSong because third faction have only one world and is building high amount of ships all the time.
