No, they're subtly different. Andrew explained once. It has something to do with negative values but it was mega subtle.

It might be worth cleaning up the text on talents using medical rating to strip the word advanced. It'd probably be a win for player understanding.

A cool modification for Orbital Disasters would be:
Engineers and Wing Techs recruited on the planet or station always have bonus skill in Repair.
The way it would come out in practice is that it would ensure recruits of either type always have at least 1 bonus skill point. Additionally, of their skill points at least one point is always in Repair. Finally, remaining skill points have a higher chance of being in repair (but not guaranteed.)
This would add an interesting incentive to people focusing on ship combat repair talents (Engineer) and definitely for those trying to cut costs on repairs for small craft (Wing Tech.)

You've got the gist of it. There's also the advantage of being able to kill 1+ of them before they even get their turn. The biggest advantage is stripping their AP on the first turn (and/or accuracy) so your tank isn't getting demolished straight away.

HoS is a long game. Let's have this challenge span the entirety of what's left of 2021. Rules are as follows:
Difficulty: Easy Deaths Allowed: 2. Three strikes and you're out. Feel free to use the bigger restore option (not just replay the last turn). So your death score will list as 4 at the most to be allowed to continue.
Party Composition: KKK(S|T) No association with the disgusting hate group by the same acronym. Sneak can be either character.
Limitations:
I. Speed not Stealth: Kincaid leads the party (glommed of course). Kincaid must invest at least 4 points into Stealth by level 18. (That's a stealth score of 2+4=6 before gear) Score: +1 point per point of Stealth (without gear)
II. Visionary Magic: Farsight and Sly Look are not allowed to be used. Kjartan's Spirit Sight may be used instead. In fact, at least 1 point in the talent is required by level 18. Score: +2 points per rank of Spirit Sight
III. Wooden Words: Warding Words must have 1 point invested in it by level 18. You can unlock chests with it or your sneak's level 1 skill. Score: +3 points per rank of Warding Words
IV. Fight the Blue Addiction: Kyera must have at least 2 points invested into Sacrifice by level 18. Score: +2 points per rank of Sacrifice
V. Lore Seeker: Kyera must have at least +4 points invested into Lore by level 18. (2+4=6) Score: +1 point per rank of Lore
VI. Gold Digger: The Sneak must put at least 1 point into Security by level 18. (This gives bonus gold, as a hidden mechanic.) Score: +1.5 points (rounded down) per point of Security (excluding gear)
VII. Telekinetic Traps: The Sneak must put at least 2 points into the Trap Disarming talent by level 18. Score: +2 points per rank of Trap Disarming Talent
Respecs are allowed, but don't respec right before submitting any screenshots just to cheese the system please.
Scores are computed upon final death (deaths listed as 5+) or at end of game.

Always Glom. Scout with high stealth is heavily recommended. (Kincaid with stealth would be hard to pull off.) Farsight/Sly Look 2 is a great point investment.
