When submitting to inspection but protected by a trade permit or edict, perhaps a smaller amount of morale should be lost than without such. I imagine they aren't tossing bunks if proper documentation is in order, but the crew might still disagree with the annoyance of stilling the engines and submitting. Thus, I think a different message should be displayed regarding lost morale and it should be cut in half in these settings. Perhaps the chance of a negative trait forming should be reduced as well in these situations.
Just an item for the long list, perhaps.

I think we (Cory) should devise a hash function for Templates that outputs a string that can be copied to the copy-paste buffer. Then other players could create a template designed by other players by inserting it into a little option for "Import Template", kind of like using someone else's map seed. This could make it really really easy to share non-standard "beginner" templates, or really any templates at all. The downside is largely that you'll have to be careful to not break the template hash function going forward. And time, I suppose.

It might be worth altering that to an XP:D build if that's sufficient to put Navigation at at least 100%. I agree that it'll be confusing to new players and that might not be the best experience for them.
...I just came up with a good idea. I'm posting elsewhere.

Can you elaborate on the lore reason for the morale loss fallen?

Does it *always* start out understaffed with Navigation? IIRC the starting crew complement isn't 100% deterministic.

I think the wiki FAQ needs a section on "Why do I lose morale for submitting to inspection?" In it, I can point out how small that morale loss really is, but I'd like to have a lore reason for the morale loss. To my knowledge it is just because your bunk gets tossed while they look for anything they disagree with, but I'd want that nailed down before proceeding.

Berserkers are the hardest class to play with, just so you know. But they're awfully fun.
On normal you don't have nearly as much RP as other difficulties, so your ability to pivot is much more limited. I wouldn't invest any more in a class you aren't certain you're going to enjoy. (Scout, Engineer, Soldier, Captain are all assumed that you'll invest in anyway.)
In this case it didn't notify me because you used the period which isn't in this forum's username. It would normally add a little notification to the top of my screen/inbox when visiting this forum until I either checked it in my inbox or viewed this thread anyway. I'm unsure of where you can learn the details of this forum software. It is called "Proboards" in case you want to Google around a bit. You could just ask around in the non-game-specific forum if you had general questions though.

Yes, on that note: choose one of Hydra, Neptune or Berserker. Those are the specialist classes to only have one of. Paladin can be played without but that is an uncommon choice.

It depends entirely on what difficulty you're playing on. Higher difficulties will be able to unlock much more of the tree. By two playthroughs on a harder setting you can get about the entire tree.

I fear this single thread for mobile issues isn't going to scale well. Shall we split this into normal threads with a convention of listing the OS in the title?

This seems like a question for the STF philosophers. Is a stealth crew member stealthy without stealth armor? And since naked isn't an option they can keep discussing it forever. Well..., I think I'm heading over to the RFE board to request combat nudity in STF now... Thanks. I hear this was deeply considered in the alpha but due to game ratings systems, especially on iOS, it had to be removed as a feature.
