It's perfectly reasonable. Don't worry about it. (Well, I would be annoyed if the game crashed because of it, but the fix seems entirely reasonable to me.)

Boy, do I have some device freak crew that are going to be surprised when this change goes in. "But I was wearing them both just yesterday! I swear!"

Too bad it won't work for you. But maybe it will help the next person searching the forums for a solution to this problem.

I'm new captain. I am in my starter ship, the Galtak Freighter. I have replaced 1 small weapon component and the passenger cabin with a prison cell and an officer's cabin. I have replaced one large cargo hold with the Gran Lux Suite. That's it. I am still with my rotten a1 weapons locker even. Haven't grown the barracks yet. I have two passengers on board. Neither of them is the arbiter -- she was long gone before I bought the Gran Lux Suites. This is the image from the other mission that also is showing only 15% lux rate. The other one was Family Secret. And the gubbish in the right top corner is telling me that the Detroit Tigers are beating the Toronto Blue Jays, which is a problem for the Blue Jays, but not us.

I have installed the de Valtos Gran Lux suite, which is supposed to give you 22% cash bonus for passenger escort missions. However, all my passengers, when they come aboard, only report that they will be paying 15% more than usual for the job (the regular lux suite rate). I don't have any other places to put passengers -- only the Gran Lux suite -- so they must be staying in it. I cannot tell if they are paying the full rate but the message is wrong, or if the game owes me money, too.

but the post from Gman, where he mentions the long deadness of the thread, is only 6 hours old as I type this. And I wrote the 'stick your steam on flash drive' suggestion for him, because while I was consulting this was what I did, and worked fine for me. But I have been out of all things for 3 years now, and just getting back....

Hi there I know I'm resurrecting a long dead thread, but I just wanted to add that I was also looking for a way to buy Trese Brothers games for PC without needing Steam. The reason for this is that the modest system requirements of their games mean they are ideal for installing on my work laptop for the evenings when I'm out of town on work, but I'm not allowed to install the Steam client or our IT department will have a fit. I would love to be able to buy the games from GOG were they available there, but I only discovered that they can be bought from the Microsoft Store when I visited this thread now, and that will be the best option if GOG distribution is not possible, as all our company laptops run Windows 10. The usual way to skin this particular cat is to copy your installed steam client on a memory stick. Install your games there, too. Plug the stick in when you want to play and never tell the IT department. www.corsair.com/ww/es/blog/steam-to-go-and-a-large-usb-flash-drive Has steam done something since I last tried this as makes this not work?

grävling, I'm disappointed in you. You take someone who is already struggling with substance abuse issues and you turn them out on the street despite their potential and the fact that you could give their life meaning and purpose. That's cold. ...I think this thread is officially over now. 1. When fallen puts rehab clinics for spice addicts into the game I will reconsider. 2. I think the thread has a bit more life in it. I am in agreement with Sparda's observation that in late-mid game when you get a significant crew member dead, replacing him or her is not easy. But I don't think that making a 5th-level crew talent work at getting significantly better than a 1st-level talent is the way to fix the problem. I think you want a talent, a serious, 15-level and only for captains that have maxed their initial start char talent-wise, for all captains that is a way to call out and put into the captains rumour network that there is a rumour that YOU ARE HIRING TALENT. As long as the rumour runs, you get approached by people who want to join your crew.

I just wish that when we got the better recruits their traits, or at least the one we can see, was factored in, instead of just their attributes. I keep finding spice addicts with great stats, alas, and have to immediately fire them. On the other hand, I'd happily take a non-combat crew member who was quick witted, or brilliant even if their attributes were not as good as the person with substance abuse problems.
