This is very similar to the Head-to-head thread, but here you're not limited to fighting in categories (fighter, mage, cleric, etc.). What is your ultimate Heroes fighter in a head-to-head match up with any other character? Describe who you think could take out all other characters, given that they all have 20 talent points to spend. How would you build your ultimate fighter?
....I'm going to have to think on this one myself before I respond.

I'm going to start with Tamilin, but I might change it once I think more about it. Deadly Intuition 10 and Silent Stalker 10= game over for all but maybe Vraes.

I would discard Silent Stalker as based on pure luck. Though, Accuracy part seems tempting.

I think that gets beat by Selen with Pinning Shot 4, Dance of Shadows 7, QsD 5, and Frenzied Blows 4. In this case Selen gets the initiative, totally negating SS. She does Pinning Shot which (for the sake of this discussion) removes 1 attack. And then moves in and starts carving Tamilin up. With QsD giving her extra Dodge and Pinning reducing Tamilin's Dodge/Parry she does more damage faster. That might be the winning combo for the whole thing. Maybe it should actually be QsD 9 and no Frenzied Blows.

I am not sure Silent Stalker is the best choice, just take Aimed Shot 10 and Deadly Intuition 10. Goodnight!
EDIT: this comes right back to "who goes first" in the really tight match ups.

Kincaid: Sure Parry 7 (6pts) Auto blocks 3 melee hits and adds +4dodge /4parry; Cunning Footwork 10 (10pts) +9 dodge/+6parry, + 16% crit, + 6acc, flashing blades 4 (4pts) 6acc +8dmg ,buff after hit for +5acc/ +4% crit
Immune to first 3 melee hits; +13 dodge/+10parry; 16-20% crit; with 6-11 bonus acc...bye bye

What about Vincent with Level 10 Energy Storm and Level 10 Lightning Spear. One energy storm gives 85 - 146 damage. +13 Accuracy. -28 Lightning Resist followed by 2 lightning spears at 63 - 134 Dmg. +15 Accuracy?
Should do pretty well with the negative lightning resistance. Plus you can kill 10 other people too :-) Which gives you a bigger boost - more chance at a crit or negative resistance? A little less accuracy than Tamilin, but better base damage without needing a crit.

As fallen said, it all depends on who goes first, and on the average that would be Tam with Blacknight 10. With Silent Stalker 10 she will even be able to one turn kill Vraes.

For the sake of the thread, why don't we assume that this is an arena match? Nobody gets a stealth roll.
Let's assume that combat would start, whoever decided to put points into +mp talents would get a slight boost to initiative, allowing them to strike first or at least they can close distance.

If it's real time (and they get to fire/attack/move at the same time), then Tami wins. Kincaid vs Vraes when you add the sure parry does make it a bit tricky for Vraes to actually do stuff. Sure Parry in a one on one fight is probably an unfair advantage Tami vs Kincaid would be better cos Sure Parry doesn't stop arrows.

contributor We need to refine the rules here as to whether or not stealth is a factor, because that would be a big game changer and also are we just building 20 talent points or do we assign the associated skill and attribute pts that you would have with them? I see a couple ways to solve this: Yes stealth; no stealth 50:50 initiative roll; or simultaneous rounds slayernz Sure parry doesn't stop arrows but the plus dodge of the build I posted and assuming a 16pt dex build would give my vs of Kincaid 13 strong dice + (16+12)=28 standard dice to avoid ranged attacks as well My goal with that build would be to weather the first round move in and poke the opponent to death with a high dmg/high acc/low parry 1ap light blade. If strealth perhaps Tam although a Selen with QSD 10, DOS 7, and Frenzied Blows 4 would give Tam a run for her money. That would be a UFC fight I would gladly pay $50 US to watch on Pay/per view Another interesting though no one has brought up a healer yet, but a Fyona with a high battlefield devotion, reckoning and con/int build would be interesting, so long as she survives the first round of attacks she would be hard as hell to kill; dropping a massive heal bomb and de-curse on herself; continuing slowly ever forward until she couild slam a -2ap reckoning strike with a 2 handed hammer into her opponents face. A slowly building up strategy of attrition and tough as nails righteousness!
