You find a pass card someone left behind, e.g. for the downtown gateway, but because you're not the official recipient, you generate heat each time you use it, until you're found out and the card is confiscated.
You find a prototype weapon or equipment, but have a high chance of hostile encounters as the owner tries to take it back.
You get a tip about a treasure of some kind, but you have to gather clues in several different backrooms before you can figure out how to get to it.
You meet a veteran with a story to tell, if you buy them drinks. No reward, just color. Kind of like Malloy from MnB after I screwed Mars over on their big mission.
Special one time connectors who give non-standard missions, such as stealing a prototype from a lab, or kidnapping a corp executive from an underground complex or an outside enclave. You then have to perform several sub-missions to succeed, like procuring a disguise, then hacking the matrix to insert credentials, then penetrate the perimeter etc. There could be several ways to go about it, or there could be just one, and you'd have to assemble a team with the necessary skills (Mission Impossible, anyone?)

I want a mission to find out what Creepy Doctor Salva has behind his private entrance.
And the VIP lounges seem the perfect place to find somebody who want you to hack the matrix looking for something _specific_.

Inexplicable increase of heat after witnessing a scuffle and seeing some enforcers search the corpse and look troubled when they find nothing. Eventual encounter along the lines of, 'we know you have the 'widget', hand it over and we'll spare your life'.
Hand it over
kill / escape and imventory now contains package to be opened that activates delivery job.

I think the battles should have smaller difficulty, but non concealable big weapons should have to be checked in, thus forcing people to bust out their fists or get special concealed weapons. Right now it's like "pardon me while i pay the 15 credit door charge and walk in with this frag launcher into this club of high profile citizens"
