Hello there! I've played Star Traders RPG and most recently Templar Assault RPG for about 4 weeks, especially when I got ill last Monday I played it quite often xD I did the tutorial several times to try different approaches on the maps and the squad constellation. I also mastered the Moons of Nachot-Ugo with them. Then I started a new squad (Templar Battleforce) and my aim is to master every campaign with them on Normal Difficulty with a minimum of casualties. Now for my questions: 1. I started with Moons of Nachot-Ugo again. At the Gatecrasher-mission I am getting swarmed by Xenos which all have 4 HP. As all my soldiers are quite new, I am struggling to even leave the first area before running out of ammo or losing my first knight (usually each Xeno needs about 3-4 shots to be killed, if there are more than 3 at once, well you know). Tried it with Scouts to rush for the exits (they are getting encircled). Tried it with Neptune (who ran out of ammo before leaving the area, I even tried to avoid using him when I could so he could move faster, but to no avail). I tried it with Hydra, but the Hydra is too unreliable in such open space as some Xenos kept going around the fire). Is the mission supposed to be that hard? Or is it wanted that there are only Xenos with 4 HP around? Back with my Tutorial Squad it was a piece of cake. 2. When I once lost a soldier, I aborted the mission to start over. He stayed dead (even if it says I will lose ALL progress). Is it supposed to be that way? 3. Once when I fired my Hydra Special it backfired back into my squad even though there was enough space in front. I recognized that I pressed on the 2nd tile away from the knight where he fired. Is it a difference which tile I press when using the Hydra? Thats about it for now, thanks for your time BaxterR

1. Using war gear and having an more experienced squad is going to be important for these higher difficulty campaigns. 2. That is a bug. Can you provide your difficulty level that you are playing on? 3. Yes, the tile you press for the Hydra is the center of the fireball. That means if you press close, the Hydra is firing at the ground right in front of his feet and the fire will wash all the way around him.
Welcome to the forum!

Hey fallen,
thanks for the quick respond! About 1: Moons of Na hot-Ugo is listed as an easy campaign. As 'Templar Battleforce' is a skirmish squad, where else shall I begin? Regarding 2: I am playing on Normal, using a Samsung Galaxy SII with Cyanogenmod 10, which runs Android 4.2.2 if that helps in any way. If you want I can try to test around that issue, I will Backup the save and let a soldier die and then I will see if I can get him back to life somehow.

There are a lot of campaigns -- Gatecrasher is a test of your ability to fall push through Xeno waves.
What type of Templars are you taking with you in Gatecrasher? Two heavies?

I tried different approaches, I only was able to make it by using War Gear +25% ammo and +1 Use for Naval Officer. I tried using scouts, neither could they outrun nor shoot the Xenos down fast enough. Also tried with soldiers + Neptune, this was also the constellation which made it possible for me to pass using the above mentioned wargear. You see, while on that mission I also tried to grab all Secondary Objectives which makes the mission alot longer. But it was always the first part which gave me big trouble. Even with the wargear activated I had to use my Naval Reload once when my squad entered the first passage.
I came up with three other questions: 4. When I beat the same campaign twice, how will it show up in the Victories-Section where you see your Prestige? Will it be Stardock Raid 2x Stardock Raid, Stardock Raid or Stardock Raid (as if you just beat it once)?
5. Was the soundtrack for Star Traders RPG and Templar Assault RPG exclusively made for you by Imphenzia or did you find it somewhere on the homepage? 6. When using wargear, for example +25% ammo for a mission and you resupply that soldier with the Naval Veteran, it only refills to the standard capacity, not to the increased one (f.e. 16 for standard Leviathan Gun). Is it supposed to be like this?

4. It will only show up once (Stardock Raid). 5. Imphenzia made all of the music, but it is in his non-exclusive category. 6. Yes, that is the intention of the resupply.

baxterrThe Moons of Nachot-Ugo level 1 is actually very achievable with standard soldiers or scouts, along with your captain of course. For me, the strategy I have always taken is to actually separate the party. This goes against all instructions for newcomers to the game, and in fact most other levels, I pair up squad members. But for the first level, I split the team up. Now your party is made up of 4 squad members, in order they are A - Captain B - Squad member C - Squad member D - Squad member It may pay for you to just use soldiers or scouts (I personally love scouts so only play them). Hydras are specialists that need decent support else they end up cooking everyone. Neptunes are better, but again they need to be used in a very particular way, and until you are used to them, better to keep your squad simple. Damnit, I can't get my FTP server to work - I have images to show you whatcha need to do. I'll write this down as best I can and will replace with screenshots when I can Anyway, your starting position will be: B A C D A - move forward through the north door until you reach the intersection. Turn East and move towards the left-hand bend. Up until you reach the left-hand bend in the corridor, you can move at full speed (don't bother reserving AP). Once you reach the corner, go a lot more cautiously saving AP at the end of each turn. Your captain's sword is brilliant and will slice through a Xeno with one or two chops. Your end goal is to get to the North East Xeno spawn point. You'll see it when you get close. Your object is to camp just one square north of it, and when the Xeno spawns, you're able to chop it down before it can even react. B - you want to move forward through the north door, heading through the intersection north. As soon as you pass the intersection, slow down and always reserve 2AP until you get used to the way Xeno's move towards you. You'll be able to dispatch them with ease using the default gun. Your aim is to get B to the north-west spawn point. That is, go as north as you can, then turn west, then north to stand one square south of the spawn point. Fist weapon is fine from that point on Now here's a hint for B, C and D. Don't be afraid to switch to fist if the Xeno is right beside you at the beginning of the turn. Your fist is still very effective and you should be able to kill a Xeno in 2-3 hits. Try and attack before moving as your skills are low, so you have to make sure you have maximum AP for defense. Once you've killed a Xeno, you can move forward. C - C has the hardest job, because he has to go to the south-west spawn point. So you will move him through the North door until you reach the first intersection. Turn west until you reach the T intersection, then turn South. From this point on, move more cautiously, conserving the 2AP. You should be fine to get all the way South, then west to the south-west spawn point. The trickiest part is when you reach the room in the south-west, you may have to deal with 2x Xenos as one is at the spawn point, and one is advancing. Take it slowly and you'll be fine. Guns and fists are fine. Once you get one square north of the South East spawn point, fists are all you need anyway. D - Move D through the Eastern door towards the Eastern spawn point. You will need to run through a couple of rooms but that'll be fine. No threats until you get to the second room. Again, guns/fists will dispatch Xenos, and keep those 2AP in reserve. YOu should be able to get to the Eastern spawn point and camp out just 1 square west of that spawn point. I've just completed this level with a brand new squad of scouts (with an Exo scout captain). Screenshots will be uploaded soon as text instructions suck

Oh oh ... to quickly build up XP, it doesn't hurt to rinse and repeat level 1 a few times. You need to boost up your AP to maximum (me, I always boost Quickness as much as I can because Quickness helps with ranged accuracy as well as speed.
If you wanted to do this using a Neptune, Neptunes normally start in position D, so you'd work him towards the Eastern spawn point. Note though, sometimes it pays to use fist because once you pull your neptune trigger, you're stuck to the spot. It means you'll have to take a little risk because you'll want to move forward at least a couple of squares before firing, and then it leaves you a little exposed if you miss and run out of AP.
Hydras are NOT recommended for the Moons of Nachot-Ugo level because you want to advance and advance and advance.
Again, my strategy above is all about taking the fight to the Xeno rather than hunkering down and waiting for them to come to you. In either case, you should be okay if you switch between fist/guns as appropriate, but you have a greater chance of being overwhelmed if you camp in one room.
IF you are camping though ... make sure your units are blocking the door ways and you have a second squad member to back them up - in other words, get B and C to block the north door of the room they start in, and get A and D to block the east door of the room that B and C start in.

Oops ... just put two strategies down for the Nachot-Ugo level. Stick to the primary strategy of separating the squad members. It's so much easier and fun than waiting for Xenos to come to you!!!

Hey slayernz! Thanks for the advice, but it was not the first mission where I had my troubles. Gatecrasher (I believe its the third or fourth mission into the Moons campaign) is the level that made me s*** bricks especially with a new squad. With my Tutorial Squad it was a piece of cake, but with a brand new Templar Battleforce it was quite horrible. I always level Quickness first aswell, except for the berserker.

fallenAbout the dead Squad members bug: I tested little bit around that problem. Test conditions: Mission: Divided we fall (Moons of Nachot Ugo) Squad: Captain (Null Blade, Plasma Sidearm) Hydra (Standard equ.) Scout (standard equ.) Soldier (Leviathan Cannon) Difficulty: Normal So when I lost all Templars except my captain, I aborted and all of them (seemingly) stayed dead. I force closed the game and I tried restarting my device - to no avail. I could not select them in my Squad screen, but I could select others. When I just started the mission again they came back to life to join the captain in the fight. Then I quickly aborted the mission and I was able to normally select them in the squadmenu. Then I let them die again and aborted - they were shown as dead again. This time I selected other squad members to join in the mission, as soon as I hit the 'To battle' button, the game crashed. After starting it up again, my Templars were alive and ready for action. Strange revive technology isnt it?

We'll take a look and see if there is anything we can to do help.
What device and Android OS do you have the issue with?

baxterr taking my newbie squad through the Moons Campaign - Have just done mission 2. Objective "Run like hell". I'm just about to start the 3rd mission. That is "Divided We Fall" which is also objective "Run like hell" Gatehouse must be #4. Is that where you have move from the airlock (in the east) and turn two switches on before getting your entire squad in the airlock to the west?
