Honestly, the difficulty of the battles in the new update is sucking all of the enjoyment right out of this game. It's so incredibly frustrating to sit back and watch all of my specialized skills (i.e. Kjartan's lvl. 10 firebolt + maxed support stats) miss seven or eight times in a row (or worse, seeing Tamilin's aimed shot do 9 dmg to an enemy with 1600 hp) while hoping and praying a get a critical or two just to be able to survive the round. I understand the need to maintain the challenge, but I feel like at lvl. 36, battles should not be an endless string of deaths even with a solid strategy in place. I've purchased everything there is to purchase in this game, but I'm so completely frustrated with it all at this point that I don't even really care to finish it. [/endrant]

ryan12381 - I am sorry to hear that your unhappy with the difficulty scale. Can you share a little more information so we can see if we can resolve some of the problems your reporting, or we can give some advice on how to tackle the issues? Exactly what "battles in the new update" are you talking about? Which monsters are specifically giving you trouble? Also, what difficulty are you playing on? What level group are you taking into an area where you are facing level 36 monsters? Are you gearing up with +Accuracy gear if you are finding that you're struggling with accuracy issues? I am sure we can help address your feedback, but more specifics would be needed to make that possible. There are already a few fights on our list to "reduce size", so we are taking feedback and acting on it. We appreciate you sharing.

I'm not trying to say that these levels aren't difficult. I found the Storm Brothers levels to be some of the biggest challenges in the game so far. To an extent, they were more frustrating than exciting because some of the enemy turns took so incredibly long that I had to put my tablet down and remember to swipe it occasionally so it didn't go to sleep. At the same time the levels can be beaten without dying. I died once doing the Fang and Storm Brothers quests on Nightmare. That death happened when I was leading my group, unbuffed, with Vincent in the lead, when I tripped a group with two Wolfken Shaman and lots of Volpa archers. If I wasn't being stupid that wouldn't have happened. So it is possible to play these levels without dying over and over again. My group is level 34 and fighting level 38 or 39 enemies.

contributor - which difficulty? One of the balancing actions I have taken for next release is to reduce the size of the larger monster groups.

Hi All. Thought I'd jump in with some feedback since I just finished up the Fang and Storm Bro's subquests on normal difficulty**. I actually jumped into them before hitting the city of the dead, so I got some outa sync dialog. My party is Vraes, Kjartan, Kyeria & Selen. Heavy focus on AP debuffs and ash for debuffs. I kinda agree that the two big battles in the Storm Bros quest were more tedious than interesting. I was never really in danger, but it just took so long to wear down the big fellas.
I also felt that the heavy repopulation of the area you have to go back through after completing the Storm Bro's quests was annoying. I actually like the idea of repopulating old areas and being able to pick up more loot. But perhaps the repopulation could occur more slowly over time. So that if you just recently cleared an area it will be mostly clear if you return.
Other than those two quibbles I really liked both new quests. Selen picked up a killer bow which is going to force me to respec her to more of an archer build once I have the necessary resources. I had been playing her with a melee focus, using pinning shot just for the debuff.
Great game, great additions.
** Yeah, I'm a wuss and play mostly on normal. But I did start a new party on hard recently ;-).

markc - thanks for the feedback! The next release tones down the size of the fights in the Orc bosses and some of the other bigger fights along the way. The re-population of Bone Ridge was disabled in the last update. There should be no out of sync dialog regardless of whether or not you've been to the City of the Dead, so if you'd like to share any of those details, I can log bug reports and work on fixing it. Really appreciate your sharing!

My memory is not good enough to provide exact details . But I am pretty sure that at some point in the dialog with the storm Bros (after killing the two bosses I believe) my party made reference to the seer lords and having chased one of them into the center of the city. Pretty minor point, but it tipped me off that maybe I was supposed to have finished the city of the dead first. Regarding the repopulation of Bone Ridge, like I said I kinda like the idea. Just maybe not so heavily repopulated. But having fresh chests to loot was a good thing. MarkC

markc - Ok, I will look over those dialog arcs. They should appear unless you've already faced and fought one of the Seer Lords. Perhaps you had?

I'm pretty sure they had already accepted the offer to enter the city of the dead under the Koda banner. But they had not yet even gone to the Koda base camp. I did the Fang quest then Storm Brothers. Just entered the CotD this evening. Good luck, I have no idea how you manage to keep this stuff as straight as you do. The way I code it would be hopeless..... MarkC

fallen just wanted to note that I also had this dialogue option pop up without entering the CotD on 3.2.17. I think you're right that it is coded on accepting one side, but probably shouldn't be since you need to accept to get the ember log.

@rearick and markc and others - seems like it was actually coded to trigger on whether or not you had faced Vurnak lol. Very strange mistake Fixed for next.
