I've been staying off the Pepsi and see things much more clearly now. I'm over the whole assembling a human from spare parts and bring him to life thing. I completely agree with the Senior Mesa Representative En1gma--eradicator the Nyktos. If we pursue the Nyktos, will we flank them to the West so they are fully encircled and then close the noose, OR drive to their center and then mop up systems to the West? You just need to build up some resistance to it, It's like iocane powder, it takes time.

It seems like we have a consensus to press the assault against the Nyktos. We will need a faction to volunteer to take a beachhead colony to resupply the fleet. The initial assault will be a massive undertaking. Sending out men women and sheep across deepspace far away from the homeland.

Wherever there is a fence, you will find us. Wherever there is Crystal Pepsi, we'll be there. Wherever liberty is threatened, you will find... ntsheep's amigos!

The assault on Nyktos Prime has Begun!
So far 4 Systems have been purged of the Xenos (3 habitable 1 nuked out of existence)
Zenrin has established a beach head colony quality 13/ mineral 15
Alta Mesa has begun building a front line shipyard quality 11 / minerals 20
The dastardly Sidtax have been spamming WKs on the western front. The fools think we are distracted, but our fleet holds the defensive line strong!

Well done Commander Gundamgoth! Be sure to send scouts out on our flanks so the Sid'tax can't slip WK's around our primary defenses.
On a side note, I've begun consuming samll-to-moderate quantities of Pepsi. My resistance is improving much more quickly than the several years required for iocane powder. Soon I'll be ready to engage in a "battle of wits to the death" with Pepsi. bwa ha ha ha!

Well led, Commander. Give em hell and drive them back to the abyss!
Has there been any new improvements made to the Mesa Hawk design? If feasible, perhaps a new fleet should be assembled to aid in the defense of both the new colonies and the western defenses?

En1gma the wasp-x design was retired in favor of battle cruiser s with a bigger boom, but I will have the engineers look at re designing a fighter fleet if the council is interested

I support the suggestion of Alta Mesa's senior representative.
So.... it was the Spice Girls who did the Generation Next Pepsi commercial--but I'm only able to answer that question due to advanced Googling skills. Along the way I read parts of the Wikipedia article on the history of Pepsi marketing. Pepsi marketing started by claiming to be as good as coke, but a better value. Then sometime in the '60s-'70s they changed their pitch to being the choice of new generation, cashing in on that whole non-conformist hippie thing. And that is the root of the Generation Next campaign referenced by the sheep.

The whole history of Soft Drinks like soda is a funny one. Almost all were invented by doctors and pharmacists and were originally marketed as health drinks. That's why you would go to a pharmacy to get them. Most know that Coke actually had cocaine in it. Pepsi was probably the first of what is now called Energy Drinks because is was suppose to give you pep. Dr Pepper was a real doctor. Mountain Dew was suppose to be like Moonshine. If you ever been told you got Moxie, the term came from the drink created in 1876. I'll stop now, don't want to derail this thread any more

//OOC I'm working on some new fighter designs. Cost is no object with our current economy and all things considered this game is already won. It's just a matter of xeno stomping now. I've learned alot both about ST4X and what to do and not do when running a forum game. I want to thank everyone who has/is participating.//
The Interceptor MV: Role...INTERCPETION. Mobility combined with high evasion, stealth defense, and lastly damage. This high tech beauty's roll is to run interference between enemies and more sensative assests: carriers, troop transports, really expensive fragile torpedo boats, and to chase down colony ships and WK.
So first things first.
Fast Reactor 14: 1AP/4MP It won't have as much punch, but it gives us that tasty 4MP and a mass allowance of 5K so we can slap some serious armor and evasion upgrades on her.
Weapons: UHV Martin LB-X 5acc/2 defense. High accuracy to hit obnoxious colony ships and WK Phoenix Defense pod +1 def for 100 mass...yes pls.
Armor: Ultimate Duranium Cladding: 14 armor / +3 Evade / +2 stealth This is what we anted all the extra mass allowance for. The interceptor is hard to hit and well armored at the same time.
Upgrades: Titan Crew: +6dmg/+5attack/+6% crit [best benefit to cost ratio option of crews to stick on fighters IMO]
Hyperion Reactor Core: +1 def / +2 evasion...duh nuh nuh...can't touch this!
Downside...Cost. Bill in accounting is going to bluescreen. 221CP +$2023; mait $283. But we are only playing on hard and when factories are idled making about 3.5k/turn.

I LIKE it. Titan Crew for the win! /OOC So now what? Do we just sit around drinking all of ntsheep's Crystal Pepsi and crushing some Xeno, or do we go again on the next difficulty up? Would you even consider running another game, CdrPlatypus? This was a shit ton of fun and I'd hate for it to be over so soon after we got started again

//OOC En1gma yes the now what question. I could play the game out to its end. I'm not sure how to involve you guys in the play as much right now because stopping to negotiate for colony rights really slows down xeno stomping. I would consider running another game if enough interest is shown. I know it was my bad for taking a long hiatus from this one. I didn't keep up with the roleplaying either. But I think I am much better prepared to do this kind of thing now.

Shoot, I'll make a ton of alternate profiles and RP then myself if I need to I'm all for a new game if this one is truly finished, tag the players if you have a list handy and see what the consensus is maybe?
