Discussion thread for CdrPlatypus's Community Play game. Welcome brothers and sisters! It is from within these chambers that a new empire shall be FORGED! Our onslaught against the menaces lurking in the Quadrant shall be swift and merciless, as our Star Forges churn out warship after warship, eager and ready for battle. May we all bring glory to Shalun.

Glory to Shalun. Agreed that we will be ready to stand in defense of our new homes, but Clan Moklumnue would just remind the delegates that we need to build something worth defending. New empires are all well and good but if we can't make a life worth living here we may as well have stayed on the hives.

It will be some time before the Forges are ready, in the meantime we will conduct ourselves in manner that best suits our burgeoning empire. We are still formidable foes in the political arena, and will have an equal say in matters concerning the well-being of the quadrant. We just await the Voice of Consensus.

Our forges are mighty and our ships without number.
We of the Alta Mesa are ready to depart on the great exodus... Hopefully there won't be any mishaps en-route... D:

Moklumnue sends greetings and a thousand Cadarian greeting cards for your future use. Don't worry, I've included the famous independant delivery system for each one.
Hopefully it will help establish your new embassy.

I am not against taking the high mineral system for our own. We will need a strong economy to withstand the financial pressures brought on by forging as many ships as we need.

I am not against taking the high mineral system for our own. We will need a strong economy to withstand the financial pressures brought on by forging as many ships as we need. Fortunately, our Star Forges will speed up production, ensuring that our worlds will spend as little time as possible tied up in shipbuilding, but I agree that mines will be a sound early investment. And who knows? They may turn up any moment!

High minerals sounds like a plan.

Brothers, I bring to you the results of my initial analysis.
As to what we should build next, from sims conducted I find it benificial to start building a factory 1 early (even if it left Half finished), so as to be prepared for future expansion. I also recognise that mines also need to be a high priority however, to power up our economy.
As to research, I recommend that we head for exchange 1 as fast as possible, followed up by going for Hab2. Then we have a solid base to found new colonies, so we can get SC1.
As to our fleet, I think it would be worth exploring the anomaly sooner rather than later, but I leave it up to you as to the timing. I am also of the opinion that we should be exploring to find out more about this region of space.
Feel free to add/change/torp these suggestions, as that is of course what this council is for...
I await the other Clansmens' thoughts on my initial plan.

Upon reviewing radiation analyses of the quadrant, on the northwestern area of our immediate section, there is a star that happens to be perfect for us to colonize. This star is right on the fringe of our sector, and will act as a prefect guard for the other two factions. Irksome as they can be sometimes, we will be forced to rely on them, which means they may be protected at all costs. This outlying star will be our means of doing just that. As for research, bookworm21 is entirely correct concerning his wish for a factory, as soon as research allows, a subsidized factory should be started and -completed- as quickly as possible. We must swiftly become the most powerful in terms of production, as every point of CP will further fuel our forges. I think we should rush two mines, then a hab, then alternate until new buildings are unlocked. Let us make good use of the anomalies in our area, as they will be needed to gain early traction. As we push back the blackness of space more will be revealed for exploitation. My opinion on research is indifferent, so long as factories are made a priority. We must bide our time in the political arena, and cater to their whims as often as possible. Once we have a basis for an empire built, we will need all the leverage we can get when it is time to lobby the other factions for allocating research to our Star Forge technology.

We should research Factory-building first, then Colony Ships. After that, we can make more specific decisions in response to the situation. Perhaps we should let our… friends… feel important and acquise to their ideas. Addendum: Some minor espionage indicates that the Zenrines (?) agree with my assessment.
