The newest release of 4X Empires (2.2.15) features re-balanced xeno AI. This first round of re-balance is focused on the mid-game (level 24+).
We'd love to hear your thoughts after you've put in a few hours with the new nasties!

fallen, what are the things we should be looking for? In 2.2.13 I already saw them doing hit-and-run, and in Rinze 32x32 caught them creating havoc on one side of the quadrant while sneaking in a Worldkiller on the other (cleverly coded, congrats). CdrPlatypus pray tell, what is this community game you speak of?

In the past, the xeno threat had a way of waning in the mid-game. It should no longer. Note that, this may not immediately effect all games. It might take a while for the new routines to kick in if your game is already mid-game.

So would it be best for me to start a new game on the side to test the release?

I started a new game last night--The Rim 100x100--around a year into it. I'm updating to 2.2.15 now, so I'm guessing my game will include the new stuff. I'll post back as I progress, but I go sllllooww.

So would it be best for me to start a new game on the side to test the release? If you're specifically interested in testing the new alien balancing, then probably the cleanest plan. Play a map that requires you to have an extended war against them

Garden, Hard difficulty, mid Year 9. Over 300K in bank and gaining at least 1K per turn.
There are 3 hotspots on the map and I have wiped out no one. Main hot spots are toward the bottom of the map along with 1 on the right side. Xeno power keeps up for a change. I have managed to get few beachheads going but lost one along the way. Big wide neutral zones / DMZ is still my primary goal. Until I get reduce the hotspots to skirmishes, I just cannot mass enough force to try knocking a xeno out of play.
Going is a lot tougher with this new xeno balancing. The recent change to invasion that involves defense value is not helping either. It is more challenging now but acceptable if you can get the economy going.

New game on the Garden (normal) is into year 4, and I'm keeping an eye on enemy levels. Once I get up there I'll report back, haven't made 1st contact yet, so the going is quick ATM

I am finding the new Xeno AI disappointing at least with the Jayeeta (Garden, Hard) they keep sending sole world killers rather than a proper invasion fleet. Its basically free XP for my fighters. Whereas I invade Xeno space with fighters/cruisers/carriers/military transports. I'm at 6.41AE and they have only made one serious push with an actual fleet. Is this a difficulty setting thing or an expected behavior?

Played a few more turns. The Sidtax on the other hand seem to send at least a small escort fleet with each world killer. Which makes a lot more sense to me. A small raiding party makes a lot more sense than a lone WK

Jayeeta is doing well on my game. Highest level out of the four. No WK yet, but their fleet is well balanced and ship levels are increasing rapidly. Less than 25-40 turns and their ships are already at level 3 since first contact. fallen are there any particular behaviors we should be looking for? I only ask so I can provide better feedback.
