I read 'invasion ships cannot be killed' and thought D: how do we deal with world killers???
I assume that invasion ships can still be killed in combat, just not as a result of an invasion.
So on normal-Easy, does less health reduce the effectiveness of the invasion ship?

guys what have you done to invasion ships? they are exploding like new year fireworks clearing planets from xenos now 'cost' 4-7 if not all 8 invasion ships, no matter they had 160 or 400hp... now its really hard to went to offensive stage without many full-builded planets because you need constantly build new invasion ships is in on purpose?

No, but it is possible you're in some edge case we didn't account for. What type of invasion ship design are you using?

No, but it is possible you're in some edge case we didn't account for. What type of invasion ship design are you using? I'm wondering if it might be Radiation damage. How many points do you have in Shielding? And which Xeno are you up against?

my standard invasion ship are lvl 3 reactor 9 heavy drop pods 8 armor cladding heavy assault brigade planetary invasion 2 7 durability 19 evasion 2 repair 9 warrior so as you see - its on maxed lower tech tree i have tested all stats like 19 shielding or 19 sensor instead of 19 evasion and i saw no differences in taken damages during invading planets before this update, so 19 evasion was ideal because it protecs ships from accidental attack by xeno ships but now i have also build invasion ships with 20 durability that gives ship not 160hp but 407 - and 2-4 are also exploding per single attack today i have even tested invasion ship on preconstructed skills - (all 7 ships stats) but with maxed technology - and kaboom - no difference i see that to be sure that we take xeno planet we need at least 10 invasion ship so in second turn we could still attack with 6-8 last ships and hope that only 2 explode before invasion on current game i fight agains bollish (22lvl) and xytox (18lvl) and tried invade worlds belonging to both xenos the rim 32x64 (44 worlds) - hard difficulty so to update this was relaxing game btw 1 turn - scout 2 turn - invasion 3 turn - scout 4 turn - invasion

Hi kolesI reactivated an old game that I'd suspended a few months back, three systems short of finishing off The Alien (it was a foregone conclusion, and I was in a hurry to tryout the Great Clans expansion Id just bought) to see if I'd get exploding ships like you. Indeed I did. I set out to reduce a Bolish system (22 defense) by scouting with 8 Heavy Transports (about 350 HP, with 9 points in Shields) and on the 3rd turn of the invasion 3 of them exploded simultaneously. And two of them had taken no damage up to that turn, while the 3rd was still over 300 HP. So I no longer suspect Radiation damage. Check out hlo's very recent thread Major Nerfing to invasion ships . I now believe the answer is there. Particularly in Cory Trese's 3rd post.

It's radiation damage for sure. Every ship we've seen so far has been destroyed due to non-optimal designs.
After more research, I've decided to keep these new more fun rules around, but hide them in Impossible.
I got several feedbacks very much in favor of the new rules, and several who strongly dislike them.
Sadly for the people who love it, they've got to change to avoid 1* reviews. But we can keep them for Impossible and nerf out the Xeno in the other difficulties.

It doesn't seem that bad to me. Just slap on extra shielding and durability and attack planets in waves. I've always tried to build my Planet Killers as tanks anyway so I don't know...

The key now is to use good attack strategy, and sequence attacks within and across turns.
