Just thought I would confirm that It's Possible! to beat the game on Brutal. In fact, Captain Alaman, took that nasty ol' scary beasty over his knee and spanked it with the flat of his blade. Total honor is listed as 8.3M. You are a true Knight of the Zendu. Congratulations, Templar.

Damn contributor, that's impressive. I haven't gotten a chance to play the formal release and am still tooling around on the Android alpha, but Brutal is... well Brutal. I've been having an insane amount of fun though and am looking forward to restarting the game when it is officially released. If you don't mind, share some of your tidbits of knowledge. What classes have you been relying on? What classes have you passed over?

Hmmmmm, I can't say I've totally got a secret recipe for success yet, but I do have a few keystones.
Overall, and especially on the Narvidian levels, I would say that we did well by being masters of MP. The Narvidians are already slow, so taking their MP with Crippling Fire (7 usually) and Suppressing Fire (1) means you can absolutely run circles around them. When you combine that with MP buffs and gear for your squad it can almost seem unfair.
Soldier: I started with two soldiers, one focusing on Leader in the Ranks, and the other being a pure damage build (the mk8 rifle is a huge upgrade here). I relied heavily on Rallying Cry most of the time, but still built my LotR soldier to be a competent gunner using Calling Shots and getting him a mk8 ASAP. When Dalan died I switched my other soldier to LotR and then brought in a Neptune. I have to say I do like the Neptunes. She was pretty much all Full Auto with 1 in Suppressing fire and 1 in the heat buff.
Scouts: These guys were key. I started with one built for stealth/speed and gave him a needler with Crippling Fire. The other one was a standard DPS sniper who focused on Headshot. There is one Narv level though where you really need your scouts to run crazy in their backfield and I switched both my scouts to sniper (strength) weapons and gave them both Crippling 7. They also got the speed buff up to +3mp and one point in the stealth buff. I put their stealth up to 16 and they did awesome. I think I left them with that build for the rest of the game, and put any extra points into Piercing Shot to lower armor.
Captain was all melee. He did one point in Blade Weave, one in Pressing Need, and then pretty much kept Warrior's Wrath and Commanders Confidence equal. With all the accuracy buffs he almost never missed. I put his Warrior straight up (well I put some early points in tactics for his buff) and kept strength and fortitude even. Also I used the Twitch Kit gear and another piece that gave him +3 parry and dodge. So he had +6 P/D from his gear.
The Captain couldn't have been so awesome without the Paladin at his side. Pretty much split the Paladin between the healing ability and the Warding Fire (+autoblock) buff. The Captain would take damage now and again, but the Paly just kept him going. With the Warding Fire buff, both Captain and Paly were at like 60% auto-block.
Engineer was pretty much turrets and TP attack.
I also found the prolonged deployment ordnance to be very useful, especially when you needed to send somebody on a stunt by themselves. You could pile all your buffs on them and then keep them going behind enemy lines with Ordnance.

Looking at this, it would be nice to see a medal featured for reaching the objective goals. They could be tied to difficulty, so if you replay any missions / the campaign, it will tell you your best achieved goal on the selection screen. Only something simple, y'know, Steel, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond for example. (Diamond medals would be achieved by getting insane results such as CdrPlatypus's posted above. Basically anything above the Platinum requirements). Requirements could be turns, kills, sustained HP damage, secondary objectives etc. Very basic visualisation: Select mission. Select difficulty. "Your best result on [difficulty] is [medal]. [requirement] is needed for [next medal]!" Apologies if this kind of thing is already in place; as a mobile player, I am of course yet to play

There is not a medal system in place. Current rewards are rp/xp bonuses and bragging rights.
