Fang Quest... The "other ending" Spoilers

Ok... This whole thread should be considered a spoiler if you haven't done it.


So... My alternate team (the one doing everything different) had the encounter with the goddess Tav and killed her. Felt evil doing that.

(brutal fight btw...although this team seems to be struggling now in general... They were fine before but struggling since CoD... Time for me to readjust them).

Anyhow... Back on topic. So I kept the tears of summer, but that's it- seems my original team had the right idea not fighting her then? I will have no access to any of the other items since Wyatt and Miranda are dead? Or will any other future event open up those items for me? (not after a spoiler).

I guess it's a matter of choice... Some decisions seem wiser than others... But looks like bargaining with Tav instead of killing her seems the wisest gameplay choice for a player to make (as currently written). White Warewolf's item is not as powerful as the array of items you can buy instead.

bobsoup - interesting analysis. I'm surprised you don't find the Heartbeat a good trade, that is a mighty item.

Weighing other facts, you also gained roughly 5,000 XP per character for the boss kill.

I will look into providing a secret way for you to get the key to his secret treasure cache. But, low priority atm.

It is a really cool item but I think the other items you can buy are better (you can equip all 4 with cool items instead of one super item).

The experience was good... Was an awesome battle... I was sad I needlessly killed Wyatt.

I second bobsoups analysis on this. The Tears are far less powerful than Wyatts freebies (I'd probably take the 2AP range 7 bow alone over the tears) plus the option to buy some very powerful items in the shop. This counts especially for multi-elemental Strickening abusers.

I see. Still, for me the option to buy lots of great stuff from Wyatt outweighs the Tears' power. But I might be a special case here, as I use three of the +12 to all elemental damage amulets plus one of the +2 Move Boots from the shop which fit perfectly into my build strategy.

Ironically, my first time through, that squad would have made better use of it. 2nd time through doing everything opposite and that group would have been better off trading with Wyatt but I had to kill the goddess because doing everything opposite.

I got the heartbeat of yackedysmackedy aswell, but the item in itself is fairly condratictive once you gain 14% sp there is not really a need for 300sp, I will admit though that +d42 holy is really good since it equals half of a level 10 talent, the 14% sp is great too.

I assume that in order to have a chance at the bow, I would have needed to bargain with Tavensa?

Is there a way to reach the 3 chests on the platform in the lava? I have spend a good hour double clicking every plant in the sedollan map.

Also curious as to what I missed in his shop...

I know the Heartbeats got an improvement since this thread was started, but yeah, for a lot of teams getting the chests and access to Wyatt's Shop are probably a better deal. Though if you're heading into the COD with the Heartbeats it really shines in there. Give it to somebody who can do 2-3 AoE hits a turn and you're going to be loving it and like the Energizer Bunny, they'll never need a charge.

Those chests are not available, there is a chance for an excellent bow in them, the rest of the gear is good but not as great as that bow. Wyatt's shop has many goodies, of note there is a +12 elemental damage necklace, 6 acc, parry, dodge rings (awesome tank item), +2 MP boots, and 6 ranged acc 12% SP drain bracers (used to be straight acc but got downgraded, I suspect because they were really overboard good). The hearbeats are awesome though, great for Fyona or Kyera who tend to need to spam spells to set up (EA or Strickening) so the 300 SP is good for a cushion but the SP drain lets them fill if they get a chance to attack after debuffing.

so chests only available when wyatt lives then?

To be honest I now feel a bit salty... the necklace is not that good that it equals all those items... on the upside my kyera has banishment 4, on the downside she is build as caster so she is squishy and easily my worst character in my group. As a tank she would probably have a bit more use... but in general the more I play the less I like Kyera.

Guess I will use the heartbeat on Vraes, at the very least it will be helpfull to ofset ferocity payments.

Times like these I miss the "load saved game" button... *sighs*
