The plasma equation seems to say "who cares if I hit, if it does do 90 damage?" Who needs accuracy when you are shooting the stuff stars are made of?

The plasma equation seems to say "who cares if I hit, if it does do 90 damage?" As you mentioned elsewhere, you just have to plan for this. Get your accuracy elsewhere -- there are so many places it can come from.

I've also been liking how the plasma guns are built out, tons of damage with decent penetration makes for a weapon that hits like a brick. Sure, accuracy is a little sub-par, but that's why I tend to dump all my points into strength and gunnery to start with.
Usually until my soldier gets up to level 5 or so I'm running most of them as full on aggressive pukes, slamming points into BF and bumping any talent that spews damage. I generally equip them with plasma weapons too because, well, why not?
After they get up to level 5 + I'll respec and specialize them as I see fit. I've been having a ton of fun with grenade focused support soldiers of late. Equip them with heavy guns and bump up burst fire just enough to get the square of fire (level 3 or 4), then dump everything else into grenades. These soldiers usually get coupled with the captain or other melee troopers as a way to damage large groups of enemies that can then be blade-weaved into oblivion.
Really, with the ability to respec soldiers, it's so much fun to experiment with talents and builds. I'll admit that I was initially against the ability to respec easily, but after playing around with it I think it adds a lot of flexibility to BF.

johndramey - thanks for the feedback, especially about the respec. I think you've echoed our feeling about it, that it makes the game far more flexible and let's you try out whatever you've unlocked on the RQ tree without having to lift mountains to make a new soldier.

Yep. He is a hell of a path clearer. The tip of the tip of the spear. He and the grenade resupply ordinance are central to the new strategy I have for the lich level

CdrPlatypus - for those great turns where he throws 3 grenades one after another?

Not quite. Because the tact point is in the center of all three lanes he uses them as needed on the way there and back. Resupply s then marches off to the next tower
