Leveled ToS to 3. Now, why did I trained Ranged Onslaught, again? Oh, right. Of course… Lol for killing stuff fast?

In just a few levels, ToS will outdo RO. By a sheer magnitude of projected power. I'm actually considering a respec to drop the only point from RO into ToS.

I an playing Tamilin and have a different conclusion. The range difference makes a huge impact. Sometimes you need to kill from afar and ToS range 3 doesn't cut it. Plus, RO can increase its vector impact at level 4 and above, allowing more targets to be hit than ToS.
ToS is deadly at short range and with - armor but battle context allows room for both talents.
Edit. Would love to discuss Tamilin development more in depth. Work beckons!

In just a few levels, ToS will outdo RO. By a sheer magniture of projected power. I'm actually considering a respec to drop the only point from RO into ToS. I also love ToS, but I am not sure how it could eclipse RO. Depends on what you're looking for and how the rest of the group is built out, I suppose. For example, a very good -Armor group, or a group that capitalizes on the -Res. The +15 ToS Dmg vs +54 RO Dmg, not to mention that RO brings twice the maximum size for AoE ... or we could go on about the 2X+ range that RO can score. But oh 1 Ap throwing knives, drool... I can see very good arguments for both

By a sheer magniture of projected power Imagine this was a typo, but I so rarely get to do this so /magniture/magnitude/ I hope I didn't make any spelling mistakes in this post lol

When it comes to which is better, I agree that ToS will far surpass RO in terms of sheer utility. It may well be the most powerful curse in the game, with its AP, Res, and Dodge effects. However-- the fact that Tamilin has the chance to drop crit-bombs at 7 range is amazing. RO 1 with DI 10 makes for a gigantic swathe of possible critical kills...

If I would not get that bow, I will respec. Tamilin has increadible mobility, and when all ranged targets are preoccupied by tanks and predecorated with curses, she could walk the battlefield like… Like the angel of Death she is. Yes, RO can blow stars out of the sky. Once in a hundred times. The rest of the time, you have to spend considerable amount of talents just to make it good, and it is still hit and miss due to AP cost. I'm not saying it is bad. Just that I grow increasingly more confident with ToS.

ToS 5, DI 10, RO 1 = effective 4 square group dmg at every range up to bow max+1(back of 4 square).
Specializing ToS is superior defensively by far, -ap plus thrown is parry.
If Tam could parry with bows things would be different...

Good to see you again, wabbit. I like your point here... That amount of targets at all ranges makes her awfully useful.
ToS just makes her so damn good, and coupled with any amount of damage/elemental gear, she can just dump on things.

Defensively too, but this is not a concern for me. I'm letting any opponent close to Tamilin once in a blue moon. Whoever runs in usually dead in an instant due to focused fire from all directions, before it has a chance to lay blows.

Not sure I follow the logic here. Hold a Throwing Knife in your hand ... regardless of ToS level, you are still as defensive as you get. I think he did mean training Thrown as logical extension to using ToS as a means to an end.

Wow, that is a big nasty group of Orcin! I suppose you cleaned half that crew out on your turn, that would be hard to weather that many hits. I suppose a good -AP curse helps

Two good AP curses. Yes, I cleared hogs in my turn, but still, these two were never in any danger, both are capable tanks.
What was a real problem is Kjartan (he's standing right below Tamilin on that screen). Even with +1MP ring he's a little slow on his feet and caught some javelins on his way to the back line.
