Your Excellency, CdrPlatypus, I must move to delay any further colonization and construction until after the other houses have had a chance to weigh in on Thulun's proposal. This is not to say that Clan Javat or my own Exalted Clan Moklumnue opposes House Thulun's proposition, simply that since said proposal will affect the entire Empire every member should have a chance to give his or her opinion. Additionally, please allow me to extend my personal greetings to Exalted Clan Moklumnue's newest councilor, resistor. You are welcome to enter our chambers and debate the inner workings of our Exalted Clan, please look for the room labeled "Moklumnue Inc. Boardroom." (ooc here is a link /ooc)

The alliance must FIRST secure our core before branching past the asteroids. To do otherwise as Mokklumune is suggesting is just asking Xeno to colonize our core, and will incite open war before we have the infrastructure to deal with it. Let us first build the platform from which we will overcome the Xeno, instead of rushing off to war. Mokk is concerned with our economy and infrastructure? Do they know how much damage fleet construction and maintenance would do to our fledgling Alliance? I would think such an economically driven faction would grasp this concept, no? /ooc oh, how I love politics

Beneficent High Templar, Honorable Members of the Council, If I might address the honorable Councilor En1gma of the brave and proud House Thulun, I would like to take moment to remind him of his noble heritage and the reputation which his house carries as a stalwart and calm people, a heritage in which hysterics have played no role to date. Furthermore I would ask him to remain on point with the discussions taking place before the council, a discussion in which the Honorable Clan Moklumnue has never proposed expanding beyond the asteroid field or engaging in early and open warfare with the Xeno. So far the only faction which has yet to propose building military ships is his own, but he would do well to listen to his own advice about the costs of building and maintaining military ships and the importance of building our economies first. Those are sentiments, which we of Clan Moklumnue certainly share. Furthermore, if the councilor choses to make himself privy to discussions occurring within our own boardroom I would remind him that it is the prerogative of each clan to decide which parts of their internal discussions they will bring before this solemn assembly and when. While he is welcome to listen in to our internal discussions, it is unbefitting of him as a noble Councilman to rush into these halls and assume to present our ideas, when we have yet to reach any formal decision on them. With most utter and profound respect, Councilor Lurker of Clan Moklumnue.

The High Templar acknowledges the concerns of the council. I will put the construction of a strike fighter to a vote. Each faction gets 1 vote.

Our vote on this matter is an emphatic YES. --Should the decision to scout Xeno systems to the EAST be made, and we make contact, we will need to begin amassing our fleet. This gives us a head start on this, without costing nearly as much as, say, a subsidized Factory (Which both factions will likely need to do, seeing as they lack our advanced manufacturing techniques...)

And to the Honorable contributor: We will wait with bated breath, the decisions made by your councils. //OOC here... I'm going to leave my previous knowledge of this map behind and play without it. This is one of my favorite maps, and one that I have struggled with for quite some time before I figured out how best to play it. This being said, I'm really enjoying the politicking going on, and I'm having a ton of fun so far

Faction representatives I present an updated chart of the Prime Sector and information on the newly surveyed systems. Renashia Annex: Quality 10 - 32 / Minerals 2 - 20 Sayek Gamma: Quality 8 - 26 / Minerals 3 - 17 New Haven: Quality 3 - 19 / Minerals 12 - 34 Northpines: Quality 6 - 18 / Minerals 5 - 21 Olggavan Hold: Quality 9 - 25 / Minerals 2 - 20 Treeth Gate: Quality 10 - 30 / Minerals 2 - 16 With this new information pleas begin negotiations for colonization rights. Templar Command would like a plan for each faction to expand to 2 of the listed 6 systems. We understand this negotiation process is complex. Therefore we ask for submitted plans by this Saturday.

Has the space to the west of the Annex been explored?
Tentatively we would lay claim to Sayek Gamma. We will wait until the other factions bring their proposals to the table before we decide on our second.

The High Templar has decide that you all don't have enough work to do and is going to throw something else on the negotiating table for you to fight ahem I mean discuss.
What will the Next Research Path be? Thanks to aggressive exploration we have almost completed the first research path (working on hab 2 atm; exchange 1 and palace 1 unlocked and added to the build queue of each prime, sorry if I was being presumptuous but I figured I could add those to the build queue without asking)
We will have: Planetary Construction 4, faction politics 2, starship construction 1
(//OOC It is really helpful for the research part of this game for you the players to own a copy so you can open up the research tree and submit paths for consideration)

Oh my, your Excellency, you have asked a lot of us in a short time. Please allow the Exalted Clan Moklumnue some time to ponder the issues you have raised. (OOC, I'm glad your having fun with the politicking, En1gma. I'm intentionally playing it up a lot from our side. Also, CdrPlatypus and others, please bear with us over in Moklumnue, I'm living in South Korea so timezones are not our friend)

ntsheep and other faction representatives Templar Command is hoping for more specific research paths than just a general direction. //OOC johndramey NP that's why when I want a hard deadline I list what timezone I'm referencing. I live in GMT -8, but my state also has silly things like daylight saving time and I work nightshift...I understand time is screwy. //
