fallen sorry but I hate the turning mechanic in TA fallen is just saying, if you want to look at a game that's showing it's age in UX and rules, TA is the gold standard

Yes. I second CdrPlatypus. CK for me too, (as I keep not so subtly hinting at the dev's. ). TA has had it's facelift. ST will soon have. Gimme gimme.

You should see some of the plans I've come up with for CK2 ... as you know that game's design is really my baby and CK2 is near and dear to my heart. fallen may be keeping CK going at this point, but I still love it dearly. I love Star Traders more, but I do really like CK.

I've mentioned it before, ST free was the first TB game I came across. Loved it. Simple old school graphics, no weird ass permissions needed, and you didn't need the latest phone to play it. Bought the Elite version as soon as I could. CK was the next one I got. I read the info on it and waited till I could but Elite, didn't want to try the free version because I knew I would enjoy it too much and it would make waiting to get Elite that much harder. Graphics really don't matter to me all that much, what makes any TB game shine is the story\setting behind them and the fact that you add your own to it. Just look at how many great little fan fiction stories are on this forum. The forum itself is a TB game and its the best one they've made. Like most people I think, I didn't come here till I had a problem, but once I was here I was hooked. I've made friends that have become dear to me and me to them. I was so shocked when I came back after being gone awhile to find myself on a list of missing members that were wanted back. That had never happen to me in the digi realm or IRL. I want to see more added to ST, CK, and TA, but I also can't wait to see what the TB's dream up next.

I love Star Traders more, but I do really like CK. I find CK more "intimate", than the other titles. More easy to roleplay. ST feels a bit too "distant", for my liking. I suspect that will change when ST 2 gives more dynamic crew members. TA. No. I tried and tried, but the whole control thing repeatedly defeated me. Age of Pirates. Some beautiful artwork. No doubt about that. Haven't given it much time yet. HoS. The first title I REALLY got excited over. Probably because it was on PC and had a real nostalgic feel. Also. It was the first MAJOR, large-scale art attempt by Andrew, and it showed how much his skills had improved, over the time he's been the TB artist.

Because CK cannot afford fallen ... it certainly cannot afford Cory TreseI love CK, but I'm not willing to let that love kill TB Games. I love being a game developer, but if I tilt at windmills and we have to close the business ... I would be very sad.

CK is on my short list for turn based combat games. And that includes TA, Shadowrun Returns and Front Mission- which tells you something. I've had TA around long enough to be nostalgic about it. I'll always keep a machine around that runs it.

If BF does well, we'll have extra money to pour into ST2.
If ST2 does well, we will pay for CK2 without a Kickstarter.
One of my favorite dreams is about Hacking in CK2.
The concept I really love is that you actually build a second set of characters, your "Matrix Avatars" that have unique gear and visuals.
When you enter the CK2 Matrix, it switches to your "Hacking Party" which represents all the Characters with a Data Port upgrade.
The idea of special challenge maps that you take an alternate party into sound really, really fun.
That way your Hacker might be a wimp in real space but super-Vraes in the Matrix =)

The Blade Runner cracked me up! +1 Karma and a finger-shake because Blade was awesome-- I know someone with that throwable glaive mounted up in their house! www.toledosword.com/pr/UC1402TS.html#TOP

I like games that scale. Where you can play "on autopilot" to kill time OR allows you to get really detailed tweaking minutia if you prefer. Turn based games with long term goals that get you trapped in a "I'll play one more turn" cycle. Do you feel that Star Traders is the former or the later? Star Traders is all of the above, I believe. That's the beauty of an open sandbox: Commuting to work? I'll do a few trading flights and build some capital. Maybe explore a planet. At home in bed? It's time to dock, check out which missions I have and the most efficient order of business. Use my acquired assets to design and build a new ship. Spend ages on the details. Then force myself to go to sleep instead of pursuing that next turn, out in space with my new wheels. Erm... Thrusters

That's really great feedback. We're hard at work to make sure that type of dual-mode play is well supported in ST2

That's really great feedback. We're hard at work to make sure that type of dual-mode play is well supported in ST2 Developers trying to cover all bases by writing their game up as "Great for a quick-fix or marathon play session", is the Game-CV equivalent of "I work equally as well under my own initiative as I do as part of a team". However, with Star Traders, it's genuinely true

We're swinging for the fences -- ST2 will be all the goodness of ST RPG with (slightly) better graphics, more (optional) RPG elements and huge depth (when you want to go deep.)
