No apparent "cancel talent selection" button. You have to scroll back and find that damned talent. No "next character" button. No way to see talent stats. Two taps for next turn. And the wooden borad in a stone'y interface is out of place. Characters' portraits looking like thieves' heads pinned at the saltprices board. In one word: unusable. Unfortunately. The scrolling talents pane is a consolation, though. Lol Are you playing on mobile or desktop? I'm confused, have you used it much? Did you get a chance to play? Really not sure where half of the things you list are coming from ... ? My tablet, though it has a big enough resolution to twart some desktops. I payed about five battles since update and poked two chest on what was left on the Sea Road on my way to Granthorn. I need an explicit cancel button to check the mobs HP after each attack. To not kill them with unwanted character, you see. Please put it back. It's cumbersome to bring the board up every time I need to open a next chest. Tapping twice in the same place it way faster, than searching for the needed dude on the panel. Select a talent on the right, and tap the button on the left, you mean? How am I supposed to know they are connected?… Err, what? You don't check the party status before sending it to next turn? I always pop the party window up to see is they can do something useful and/or have enough HP before sending them into next round of hell. I'm not particularly against one or another, but as it is right now, it looks very much out of place. Especially with the new huge party window dominating the screen space even on my not-that-small monitor.

I would almost advocate for the space under the talent scroll and above the talent/item buttons being used for the talent info and cancel buttons. Since the talent list can scroll, a shortening wouldn't make much of an issue, and moving buttons that are meant to be used in conjunction together will only help the player in the long run. Better yet, get rid of the Talent button altogether (since you can scroll through everything now...) and put the needed buttons in its place. Once the info/deselect buttons are there, the 'Next Character' button can go back to its rightful place among the stars. I would take anrdaemon's criticism (and my own!) constructively; the new interface while new and shiny adds a much needed ability, while making the whole thing less intuitive. I just don't want to see any 1-stars popping up because the players perceive a step back in the UI. Thanks for your time, and seriously don't take me the wrong way- you know I love your games, and truly appreciate the work you put into them.

We made the change based on data collected by Google based on how people are using the game's interface. Our metrics indicate that removing the Talents button would be a mistake -- it is this button that gives players access to the re-ordering functions.
We also have to be sensitive to our majority device users -- because HoS runs on so many devices we have built the adaptive sizing layer into the UI rendering system so that it can be adaptive. Feedback that's not attached to a specific device build is very hard to parse, especially when we're trying to put it into perspective with the massive amount of data Google's providing.
We like to imagine we are good at taking constructive feedback -- and we understand that the forum tends to skew negative where e-mail tends to skew positive (that's just the nature of the mediums, we believe.)
We accept that any change, no matter how good and well tested, will generate some 1 star reviews. That's inevitable in mobile games.

Lol, case in point. Latest 1-star: "Uhh Thought the pic was a girl without a shirt on" Right behind that comes: "DKM" Yep, that's a fact of life

Been playing much of the afternoon with the new mobile interface. It took a bit of getting used to, but now I feel comfortable with it. In particular I like the way you select talents in battle now.

I play on desktop, so things could be better than those that play on their phone

Been playing just for the last few updates and I'd say I like the new UI more than before, except I second the want of the info button moved to the talents side of the screen and the next char button returned, unless you have a long press, or char pull-out menu option upcoming for the latter part.

If you ever do a HoS 2 please add a fifth char slot for extra play and tactics options...

We're in the process of trying to tackle long press, yes.
