At the moment, 10 living and 4 dead. Highest level is 20 (Dalan Ortho) and lowest is 11. The Captain is at 19 even though he has the xp as Ortho.

contributor that is crazy. You've got me beat for now as far as I'm concerned. Ironman should be scored first and foremost on survival.

Alright, I beat the game on Ironman this morning with no captain deaths. It was my first attempt and only the third time through most of the last levels. I did start running a "scout" group on brutal ahead of the ironman team because it's been almost a month since the last time I played. That was invaluable for levels like Hive: Outer Shell. In the end, it got pretty hairy and I got way behind on the good pace of beating the levels well under the turn count. Of all my knights I see that the scouts really deserve hazard pay. I lost 4 of them and one engineer. I've fallen in love with a Neptune using high levels of Suppressing Fire. I knew it was good when when I sent one Neptune and a scout out alone to capture a TP on the Narvidian Core mission. Some of the levels that really went wrong, were the most memorable and fun, because victory was just so narrowly obtained.
I'm not sure where to go now. I've got 5.4 million honor, still way below the leader on the G Play boards. I would almost have to beat the game again to catch up. I'm not sure I want to do that. It would be fun to bring some of the rest of the group up in levels though and I haven't unlocked Berserker yet.

That is no small feat, regardless of leaderboard position!

Bringing this thread back from the dead, but I wanted to brag a bit. I've been working on an ironman squad over the lunar new year's holiday over here. Been playing as conservatively as I know how, and it has been paying off! I just completed the Dread Falcon and am sitting pretty at 3rd place on the leaderboards with 5,469,700 honor. I should be biting at 2nd (7,532,200) within a couple missions if I don't get sloppy, and then it's only a short hop up to 1st (9,040,800)!
Chuck's Chargers is the name of my squad, and they have a total of 978 kills at 3.0 a turn average. Chuck Strogg, my captain, can personally account for 258 of those kills. Darius, my second in command, can personally account for 261 of those kills. The remaining 459 kills are spread across the squad.
So far, it's been a ton of fun! I've been working on building up the Chargers to be as defensive as possible, beefing up auto-block on all of the melee builds and trying to get deflection as high as possible on everyone. Chuck Strogg has 100% deflection currently with 55% autoblock. If I couple him up with my Paladin Matylde, who is sitting at 90% deflection and 58% autoblock, they are pretty much unstoppable. If they get damaged, Matylde can heal up to 100 damage with a single medkit. He also keeps everyone pumped with battlefield enhancers!
Ironman has been very, very tense, but very, very fun!

Very nice looking squad, and first place looks like it is in your grasp! Stay strong, don't retreat, and try not to die That Deflection and Auto-Block ... great numbers, especially for an ironman squad.

Thanks! That autoblock has been the key to my survival thus far, as I can usually stick my captain and/or my paladin out on the line. That frees up everyone else to either kill, support a push, or shore up defenses.
I had a really nice berzerker, but alas he fell in combat. I've been thinking about trying to get another one up and running, but am holding off for now so I can try to keep my score as high as possible.

Nooooooooooo!
Chuck Strogg fell in the line of duty, he got ambushed by two lancers and a siege goliath, they managed to reduce him from his beautiful, fully buffed self sitting at over 160hp to dead in one round of concentrated ire.
Dammit!
Now, should I continue on with this group, or consider it canned and start a new one? Hmmmmm, choices, choices.

Ahhhh, crap! Curse you xeno!
The farther you get into the game, combined with difficulty, increases the chance of monsters like Siege and Lancers coming out. That is raw ambush!

Yup, I am normally not too worried about most of the xeno, but those lancers are so nasty. I prioritize them over everything else!
It was definitely a raw ambush, but I was getting a little over-confident with Chuck Strogg. I'm planning out my next run already, and am hoping to have some fun with it. I will take 1st on the gplay ironman leaderboard!
