Realize much of it is still up to the RNG gods but adding more quality items to loot drops increases likelihood of actually getting decent stuff and not just potions and autosell items. The re-balance actually reduced the effect of RNG in loot drops by just making everything better (spits out hot tea all over family members ) WHHAAAAAATTTT? (redownloads HoS NOW)

Just saying, as all of the E1 gear was improved, you're not really fighting "Ah, crap I got a bad loot drop."

Back to Vraes I have found it is great fun using him with a light blade. Getting 7 swing. Now I have to just get a good light blade with element damage, I will be set with Vraes.
PS - working my way thru the west road and have not see any light blade drops yet. Is this expected?

A suggestion for Vraes Since he is outlander, a master of weapons, he should be equal versatile with any weapon type and should not have to select a weapon type attribute to updated. His weapon attribute affect all three types of weapons equally.
PS - In my current game, Vraes is mastering in bladed, but the best damage weapon by 50% is a hammer which he is using at this time.

If you are looking for larger possible damage, Hammers will always beat blades. Spears have less damage, but a tighter range, where Hammers are always rolling very large damage dice. Blades are the best balanced with accuracy, parry and damage.

That's what the talent weapon mastery is for - a somewhat viable strategy is to max weapon mastery and/or savage sweep for acc instead of str and/or weapon skills so that con/int and leadership/lore can be focused on instead. If anything of the sort it would make more sense imo to simply give more regular skill points at level up on those levels not currently gaining skill points, but for now extra dmg from str sounds good to me :-).

Hi Fallen
At the moment the best 2AP blade I can get in the game has a base damage 21 while the hammer being used has base damage of 31 which is why Vraes is using it. Gaining the 10 point of base damage is worth using a hammer even when Vraes is mastering in blade.
PS - great game.

Yes, if you're looking for the highest damage weapons, then I would recommend hammers. You'll find that they have a high variability in their damage as their damage dice are large.

If you thump something hard enough with a hammer, you won't need to parry afterwards

If you thump something hard enough with a hammer, you won't need to parry afterwards Yeah, but they like to gang up in numbers that out do the number you can take down in a round, so keep out of mp/attack range or parry/dodge/soak for a round or more for sure.
