Why allow subsidize, but no option to buy CPs? Allow me to rush to completion via an OVERTIME tech.

Subsidies allow you to purchase CP upfront for a project.

Right... subsidize gives me a jump. Why not allow a further expenditure of credits to rush the hab unit or spice den to completion?

chesspupil - thanks for the suggestion! We'll take a look at adding it to our list.

This would be useful where housing is in a crunch or spice is needed asap.

Ok, what about OVERTIME PAY... OR TRIPPLE TIME PAY...
Essentially if subsidize gives you a boost of 30% at double cost why not allow for an extra expense to pay for overtime pay, or double time.... Say under "in projects" screen there is an option added to "Rush". One proposed formula would be: Cost of unit * remaining percentage *overtime pay) turns to finish = cost to finish next turn.
200 x .25 x 3 (arbitrary RUSH penalty) x 5 (turns to finish) So if my HAB unit is 75% complete, but still wont be done for 5 turns the cost to me to pay the colonist extra to finish the project is 750 credits.
If I have an economy that booming on surplus treasury and the masses are screaming for housing I can throw more money at the problem.

I'm thinking subsidize represents overtime/extra effort for cash/resources, any quicker and u might as well get the cowboy builders in to sell a shack dressed up as a house and watch a xeno casually walk backwards frew all your habs because there actually shacks. Or in other words even pre fab takes time too put up and money can't transcend time.

the adage is that time = money...
simplify it further... 3x cost results in double speed construction happens all the time in the real world.

I imagine that Senate owned construction is financed and constructed by the assets of the Zendu Senate, similar to how most militaries build and own their own bases. Subsidize is paying the Factions to divert their own resources and manpower to aid in the construction, because a) they are getting paid, and b) it is assisting in construction that will benefit their worlds.

So why not be able to rush further than subsidize with more money? Bring in Contractors etc?

So why not be able to rush further than subsidize with more money? Bring in Contractors etc? Because that's how the game is designed and balanced. You're running an empire of refugees clinging to life on the edge of space.
