I recently received the Amazon Fire and I have been trying to install Star Traders to it from the Amazon App store. Nine times out of ten it will error out after downloading the installer and the other times when it does "Install" the screen will turn gray momentarily like it is trying to load the app then instantly crash.
BluePanther in another thread (http://startradersrpg.proboards.com/thread/12837/version-5-9-19-load) seemed to maybe have a similar issue.
Also I am having the same issue with Hero's of Steel, though I have yet to have a "successful" install.
I understand this is the holiday so no rush. I can still play them on my phone.

The games are compatible with Amazon Fire 2015. The best thing to do with Amazon is to push the help button and contact their support team. Always the most successful and fastest way to resolution. On our end, we can only make basic suggestions - restart your phone, etc. Here is another thread of Kindle users discussing issues they have with installation. These are all tied to the Amazon market and are not related to our games. There are a number of good suggestions that have helped other users in the thread -- startradersrpg.proboards.com/thread/12946/kindle-users-any-help

Thanks for the quick response.
I ended up contacting Amazon Support, and I have no idea what the exact issue was but essentially the way that it had to be fixed was they had to issue me credit for the games, I had to remove them from my cloud library and then I had to repurchase them using the credit. Only then would they install properly after doing other extensive troubleshooting.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I had to do this for both ST and HOS

teeka - I am glad that they were able to help. As you can see from the solution, it was an Amazon App Store issue, and no matter what we would have done, we couldn't have done that

I know this is a bit old at this point but the issue has persisted with Amazon across multiple devices (Fire 2015, Nexus 7 2012, and Galaxy S6) and I wanted to give an update about an easier fix that having to continuously deal with customer support.
I found that by logging out and back into the amazon app store on the device that is having issues authenticating the game purchase it seems to refresh and start running without issue.
I hope this update will help anyone else who encounters the issue from the Amazon App Store.

Glad you were able to find a work around. Amazon's IAP support is really terrible.
