blackgauntlet Awsome, has all the elements of a campaign people can get behind. Find secrets. Kill stuff Meet interesting people, kill them later Discover existence of treachery, kill them for it Discover existence of evil hidden master, have to kill him. Get allies that you may have to worry about and kill later. I like the parts where you kill stuff. all with chainsaws!

this thread has gotten epic. thanks guys -- coming soon Eh? What is coming soon, dude? More campaigns? Hopefully, we can get campaigns with BRANCHING storylines. That'd be awesome. It'd be more awesome if we can unlock some permanent reward for completing each map at each difficulty. Of course, the rewards would not stack and we'd just get a message telling us we have already unlocked the reward (in the form of medals) before, sorta like achieving awards in ST. For instance, if we complete "The Gauntlet" at Easy, we unlock "White Cross - To honor young Templars showing promise (10% Chance to gain 1 extra XP after missions)". Higher difficulties of the same map would either provide a better reward of the same kind or a totally different type. I dunno, just punching in the dark. ;D

I would like a mission with a moral choice theme,it would require a branching option(like BG suggested) where you pick sides. Say like your team was tricked/drugged into doing something fairly horrible to the average person. Afterwords your CO explains the justification for it,you get to decide where to go from there. You find out there's good and bad in every decision you make and things seem to go spiraling out of control. The ending you get should have a somber "did I make the right decision?"mood at the end.

Much better fit for CK. Templars don't fail =)

Yeah you got me there, feel free to make use of that in ck then....ill think on something more fitting for zealots. Kill all xenos!
I would like to fight on a organic type ship where your team has to take out specific areas kinda like a big multi stage boss battle done tactics style.

If it wasn't already posted by Andrew there are already branching stories supported in TA and CK, altho differently.
In TA there is branching based on the manner of victory -- each level can have as many as 4 victory branches (alpha, beta, kill X enemies, survive X rounds.)
At least 1 victory branch should be available in each level but some levels may use all four to allow the story to break out into different threads.
For example, the Templars are faced with the choice between holding ground and evacuating. The following levels (3-4 maybe) are different based on the Captain's choice (different recruits, weapons, upgrades, XP, etc.) In a longer campaign the storyline would probably join back up after a certain amount of deviation and continue to be effected in various ways by the "state aware" elements of TA (dialogs, events, classes, etc etc.)

Eh... branching out as something like: Scenario 1) The unjust Galactic Conglomeration must fall! Both Senators Octo-Pussy and Strato-Dict must die for their crimes! However, you will have to protect First Lady Boobsimila from Planet Titsurhumongos. You will only have the chance to kill wither one of the Senator and then spend all efforts to ward off attacks on the First Lady for 30 turns.
Scenario 2a) While protecting the First Lady, Senator Octo-Pussy has escaped back to his watery homeworld of Undurdasy, even though Strato-Dict met his end from your team. Incendiary and explosive weapons are of no use here. Hunt down the Senator and make him pay for his sins! Excelsus Ad Aeternitatem!
Scenario 2b) After successfully defending the First Lady from the onslaught, the cowardly Senator Strato-Dict has fled to his domain; the avian planet- Flipdaburd. Your Leviathan Suit will be retrofitted with boosters but movements will be limited in the sense that you cannot fly backwards. However, as an accomplished Templar, this will not stop you because we will only go forward. The Senator must die! Excelsus Ad Aeternitatem!
Or something like that...

Made an account just to say i love your works.
Now then regarding story id like to suggest more background story and depth in the campaign storyline. Maybe portraits speaking and such to make it more engaging. Not just a shallow storyline with mission objectives. I think this is a wonderful oppurtunity to expand the universe and really bring it to life. Im sure there are plenty of story tellers around that can write some some inspiring 40k like narratve and speeches.
Id like to volunteer myself too if you need suggestions and even actually writing these stuff. I write short 40k inspired fan fic myself as a hobby.
Also how about a minimap maybe semi transparent diablo style that overlays the screen? Also damage displays or misses

Moving portraits use up a lot of memory that I'd rather be used on something else, like increasing playability and features. As for the minimap thing, we were discussing on having an on-screen radar with life-forms showing up as blips. Knowing Cory, we'd probably have to spend Honor points to get it, use CP to activate it and its effectiveness would probably be tied with a skill. ;D

There's always the old classic: Escort a bunch of lost tourists off an alien-infested luxury liner Responding to a mayday call about an alien attack, a team of Templars dock on the luxury liner Imagoldfish, only to find the ship infected by aliens. This can be a multi-part campaign with the overall objectives being: - Primary mission: Get all tourists to evacuation area without them being eaten - Secondary mission: Activate self-destruct on the ship.
Deck 1: Locating the passengers The campaign starts with you arriving on the liner. Your support team is prepared to dock at each level of the ship in order to rescue any passengers. The first part of the mission is to connect to the ship's computer to identify the location of the remaining passengers. There are around 12 passengers and crew, scattered throughout the decks you will traverse. - Primary objective: Go to ship computer to identify the location of the passengers. Until you do so, the locations of the passengers will be hidden. - Primary objective then becomes: Rescue x passengers from this level. - Secondary objective: Get to the bridge and stop the ship's auto-pilot. The ship was scheduled to arrive at a tourist planet and the govt authorities have requested that you do what you can to prevent an infestation of aliens on said planet.
Each deck has 4 passengers to rescue. It involves getting to the room the passenger has barricaded themselves into, and have one of your Templars cut through the door. The opening of the door takes 5 turns, so your Templars have to defend the location during this time.
The passengers from each level can be taken to the evacuation point one by one, or as a group.
Deck 2 The Templar team are redeployed to the second deck of the ship to continue the rescue. This deck also includes the dining hall and ball rooms. - Primary objective: Rescue x passengers - Secondary objective: Kill 30 aliens As the team progress through this level, one of the passengers may ask the Templars to help them out. This request results in a 3rd level objective. - Tertiary objective: Get my computer from my room, it has my life work on genetic research on it. Reward - 1000 honor
Deck 3. Cargo This deck/level includes the storage area of the ship, and also some "restricted" areas. - Primary objective : Rescue x passengers/crew - Secondary objective - Investigate restricted area. As per previous levels, you need to rescue any crew barricaded in the ship. Again, one passenger might ask you for some assistance: - Tertiary objective: I've got some experimental equipment in the cargo area. The reward for locating the container could include honor or even better, a weapons/equipment cache
If you decide to investigate the restricted area, you will find a heavy infestation of aliens, as the ship was secretly doing some sort of alien research, but the containment shields had failed. It's because of this area that you find yourself neck-deep in alien crap. - Reward for exploring restricted area. Weapons cache, 2000 honor.
Deck 4 - Engines - Primary objective: rescue remaining passengers - Secondary objective: locate and engage self-destruct mechanism.
There are two rooms that the Templars are required to go into to engage the self-destruct mechanism. Unfortunately, they discover that they need to engage the mechanism in both rooms at the same time (in the same turn).
Once engaged, the Templars must reach the evacuation point within 20 turns. The evac point is around 15 squares away from the two rooms, but of course the aliens will try their best to distract you from leaving the party.
Skirmish stuff * Defend a location for 20 turns. Obviously a large hoard of aliens will be coming to relieve you of your duty * Destroy an alien hive * Find a valuable artifact
