What the, I ain't Blackguard, knave! Were it not for my licentious hunger for the ladies, I would've been an awesome Paladin!
Okay, end rant... I've never really been into WH40K. Too f*ckin' expensive (and bulky) to play. So, I don't really know much about their history and stuff.
Currently, the history of ST Universe is just a time-line showing extremely important events (destruction of Terra, exodus of Terrans, rise of Shalun, eviction of Narvidians and the establishment of the 6 Houses & Syndicates) and leaving huge pockets of emptiness for our imagination and the Trese Bros further development.
And if my suggestion hints too heavily on WH40K, my bad. I'll think of something else. I always do. ;D

Warhammer has been around forever and coverd so much dark future and fantasy strategy game territory its riduculous...to worry about if your ideas mirror those is like worrying that your new cartoon show show might mimic something the simpsons did.

How about the part where my cartoon character eats a 24 foot long sandwich for a whole week till it got all moldy? Damn, it's done! Doh!
Or how about my cartoon character got her hair catching on fire due to her beehive hairdo covered in flammable hairspray? Damn, it's done! Doh!
In any case, I am arrogantly sure that I could come up with something never before done or provide a mind-boggling twist on something that people thought was done to death. ;D

You go for it BG!
Though just because you mind bogglingly add anal probes to the mix doesn't mean your original idea is all that great. ;D

I didnt play the table top either but im a fan of the pc games and the storybooks. I love bleak dark futures.
This will be more of a cross of wh40k (only because of Templars) and Dune (with all the houses and all that)

Its good to hear what cory mentioned coming i cant wait for the updates. Not too sure about the pirates tho. Hope the story and background remains bleak and the darkness of space void and empty rather than filled with xenos and war everywhere like 40k. Prefer the eve like universe if u might

Er... pirates, sad to say, are here to stay as they are an integral (and hateful) part of the ST universe. Pirates can sometimes be more unforgiving than Aliens.

If they did that I would love killing them even more.....if that's possible.
Pirate "Arrr Matey!" Captain Gravis "Uh huh.*Glares at pirate,Starts chainsword*" Pirate "Arrr Matey?" Captain Gravis "*Grabs pirate by neck, lifts pirate off ground, and starts to divide the pirate in half starting from below the belt*"

Already bought it! I'm probably first! Just got my ass kicked though. I think the difficulty went up with some strange dark purple aliens that infested one of my dead Templars. Nifty! ;D
Pirates cohorting with aliens? I think as infested pirates, more likely. Now, a Faction... that I can believe.
And, a trained warrior vested in nanofiber chainsuit, dressed in impact-absorbing war-plating and garbed with a solar-crystal powered Leviathan exo-armor is not enough for you? You want him to manipulate a terrible devastating machine of walking death, while wearing all that, as well? I'm all for it! ;D

I finally downloaded Templars. The trese bros may be heading in the direction of out doing themselves. Its prettymuch AWESOMER!!! A few questions I have for yal. Wth! Is special move, not sure exactly what it does.... I'll keep experimenting. Also on the maps THE GAUNTLET.. . The secondary objective is kill all xenos. Does that mean the hives will actually atop producing aliens? I found that if I posted up in a room and switched templars on guard duty that the alienate prettymuch much just lined up for the slaughter. It was only I broke out and made a breaks for the extraction point that I got massacered, so if I stay posted up and barracaded in the room and kill all the alins and hives stop producing then ill prettymuchuchida have clean-unobstructed shot to the extraction, right or no.

1) Yes, TA's f*ckin' awesome. 2) Supposedly, Special Move is to "issue commands" to the Templars within Captain's range. As an Exo Scout, you can confer +1 CP to the selected Templar. 3) Not just "Gauntlet"... And no, it would not stop. It's a Trese Bros Cruel Joke. 4) Yes, those are what you call "chokepoints" and it works. As it should be, since you could do the same thing in real life. 5) It would have been possible to wipe them all out with (4) if it weren't for (3).

No wonder. I prettymuch fugured that part about 3) out. I ran out of ammo on three templars. Had 1 left with 122rep ammo, counted about 20 aliens converging on my locations. In the end my guys went down gloriously surrounded by xenos and might have been able to breaks my captaing through but made a misrake and moved him out of the pack which prompted 3xenos to free for all and there's was no more captain. I think ill try just making a mad dash in 2s teams of 2s to divert the concentration of aliens from full force instead of getting the teams trapped with no ammo in surrounded.

Same thing I did. Breaks a couple rules stated by Andrew on Templar survival, but it works.
