With the possibility of a visual overhaul to highlight these not being likely I would like to have access to a list of them according to zone. That way I can just scroll to the zone I am in and look. I will start it off with some that I know although the list will be short as I tend to avoid camping to get the highest score possible.
Krellin Deeps
1st Campsite to the southeast as you enter the area Last campsite before you get to the crossroads
Secret Way (area before Red Hill pt 2, forget the name)
Campsite just before the end of the zone at the northwest corner
Red Hill
Forward camp campsite Groth's Lair campsite Throneroom campsite
wow i think that is all I know, after this point I always trek back to town to guarantee the level up...I would really appreciate some in the Torrent Watershed or the Excavation site as that is where I am now and I am always backtracking to level up there.
Some in the Braeys territory would be nice too. Any campsites in the darkswamp work?

My latest Nightmare group (KKKT) is approaching the Gatehouse and 3 of the characters are waiting on reaching a waystation to use their latest level. The fights are getting distinctively harder, but its a long walk back to the siege camp and I'm not interested in spending the turns (its a Nightmare ladder game, so score matters to me). So, I fight the harder fights and look forward to the eventual safe camp (there is one in the area after the Gatehouse). If you are in Braeys territory, visit any town.

Oh this was not slight on the balance, I merely don't know where any of them are and do not want to spend 10,000 points a pop to check.

10k points is not that much actually. End game scores are well over 1.3 billion and so 10k is a drop in the bucket. You will have to excessively camp 100s of times to see any real score difference. I just like pushing builds as far as they can go. For instance, I am taking a group through now that only camps once a level, tops (sometimes once every two levels), and subsists off of potions entirely.

I thought 1.3 billion score were "cheat" scores on the leaderboard. What about purchasing potions? I heard that also lowers your score?

Maximizing score has many factors. The basic principles are fight everything, don't die, have 500,000 Gold (you do not get any more points for gold beyond this amount). I never buy potions personally because I do just fine off the ones found in chests. That said, buying potions won't hurt your score unless it dips you below 500,000 gold end game. With the game unfinished I think I am sitting at around 700,000 with many equip purchases but no potion purchases. This means that you can probably spend about 1.5 M gold throughout the game and still retain 500,000 (just a rough guess based on the gold I have gotten in episode 4 so far).

I guess there is a lot of money in this game My biggest issue in the brief playthroughs were two: 1. I had real trouble with running out of Spirit potions, and I have not yet gotten to an area with the shops. So I got stuck and couldn't progress further. 2. I am having a general difficulty with navigation (no mini-map, no clear directions on where to go, etc.).

Strategy will start to flesh out as you play the game more. This game is not nice about charging forward in general. Learn the range of archers in this game and hang outside of that range till they move forward and then mob them. Archers are by far the most deadly mob in this game (excepting some bosses). Use far sight to scout out areas so you know where things are and what to expect. Episode 1 has very simple attack patterns that you can use to really decrease damage. Everything will only attack the closest character to them, regardless of line of sight. This means melee will move to the closest character and attack and range will shoot or move (they cannot move and shoot on the same turn, unless they are right next to a character). If you hide behind walls or boulders, you can avoid lots of damage. Sp usage is another fickle thing. I personally only use basic attacks on all but the most defensive of foes. The cheap SP might make it attractive but using it 3-7 times a round, every round, for 16 fights, adds up quickly and basic attacks suffice for the most part as long as you are buffing.

If you are near a training facility, would you train after every level up? Or train less often to not get the score penalty?

It more depends on what the level gives me. If I am happening by an inn or somewhere I know will allow me to train then I will go for it. I will go out of my way to train any level that offers talent points as those are the things that fuel builds and there can be huge differences made with even 1 talent point. I avoid training though unless all 4 of my crew are ready to level. You should understand though that this will not make any impactful difference on your score. It comes down more to habits. Resting when you happen to come across a camp will not hurt you. The differences come from how long you tend to go without resting. Someone resting after 2 fights for every fight in the game will notice a score reduction compared to someone that can stretch their resources to resting every 4-5 fights.

What about buying too many potions? Also, am I only supposed to be level 6 when I first enter Oskahold? I am wondering if I've already missed too much content...

I would honestly focus on the story and the decisions you'll make along the way on the first play through. The game has a lot of twists and turns and different builds and characters. Trying to get a maximized score the very first time you play is probably not as much fun. Just my opinion
