Oh man. Oh man. This is great. You gentlemen just have earned a new nickname. You will now be called The Mad Scientist of Mobile. TMSoM for short. This reminds me of a question i have had for awhile. Is there a limit to the amount of items you can carry. Later in the game i may want to keep equipment that i may want to craft. Another idea maybe to add to this is you can use a potion to increase your total health or mana on a character. Maybe you could set up something where you could convert so many moonstones for a bloodstone. Great job fellas. You truly are the mad scientist of mobile. There is no limit to the number of items you can carry. We thought about that for a long time, but it would be annoying, honestly. Loot, just loot it all! A Moonstone -> Bloodstone conversion is a killer idea. Top notch, thanks for suggesting that. Don't want to Respec, just craft!

iAP? Is that gonna be 20 MSs every game? Will steam get it by default? That would be +20 Bloodstones in every game (new and old). Not sure about Steam at this point, we don't do IAPs there.

phaze I think the most likely culprit is respawns. Episode 2 might have a few. The order I did to get to 29 was Darkmoss > Prospector's > Braeys side > Ironwood Ridge > Bone Pass > Krete Mission > redid Darkmoss (more flowers eke out a bit more exp) > Prospector's > Crag's Peak (really looking forward to this zone with the magic weapons for sale and the new crafting system!) > Talia > Cult > Druid > Gholla (for sure a bloodstone respawn here but I imagine most people get it as the respawn happens after the event) > Werewolf (Bone Pass has a respawn between Episode 2 and 3 somewhere, not sure of the trigger, can't remember if you can double up on the bloodstone you get after using the log, I personally did not but it might be possible) > Storm Brothers > CoD > C8 > Ellista > Weaver > Freeport. I have not done episode 4 enough to know if there are respawns to take advantage of in there. Also note that respawns give Moonstones too, in the same game at the same point (just before the end of current content) I have 125 and with fallen being intrigued by the Moonstone > Bloodstone conversion that might mean respawns have even more rewards (I've done no respecs)! I am really excited for this and will definitely be restarting a few games to try and figure out how to best maximize this system, thanks for stealing all my free time for the next bit TBs! The next game I do I am going to record where and when I get Bloodstones and Moonstones and maybe we can compare notes. The problem with doing the game over and over is I tend to do it the same and have no idea if I am missing things.

Thanks for the write-up. I guessed respawns. It gets confusing to track with the blending of content.
I don't have a thorough listing of my path but we play similar paths. I clear the southern areas, avoiding quests, loop to the north and do all the Braey's content with reclear as needed. I likely missed a respawn in the south though swear I checked. After finishing the north, I clear the south and all content before cod. Then do cod and the new content roughly in your order. One tactic I like, though may reduce total xp, is to clear a map or two of cod. The loot drops (espially parry/dodge gear) can leapfrog nearly all other drops in the southern content. As the game is so long now, it takes too long to test multiple variations of triggers and respawns.
I like the bloodstone crafting for filling weapon gaps especially.
I wonder if the beefed up items from crag's peak are considered magical or mundane?

phaze - the items from Crag Peak would be considered magical. Anything that has gold text (+4 Crit %, etc) would be magical. It is feasible we could allow the re-enchantment of magical items, but it would be a pretty hard thing to add atm matrim - that is an amazing cache of Moonstones!

Some prime candidates for crafting just off the top of my head; Oxenbone bow - found just after the shaman, I almost always get at least 1 that has 19-56 damage on it. Best bow till Episode 2 and even then the upgrade is marginal. Would be good till Episode 3 weapons. Scything blade - store purchased, I've only ever found an upgraded version once in a chest. It's 19-36 damage for 1 AP, great weapon, only marginal upgrades till Tulwar in Episode 3. Flanged Mace - see above. Tulwar - replaced by episode 4 but the scimitar is not that much better and at that point you will be getting relics. If you buy this by using the Braeys shortcut you can get a powerful weapon to use through most of episode 2 and all of 3. Vrotta Spines - littered throughout episode 3, the bought throwing knives in episode 4 are a minor upgrade and enchanting the spines could get you a lot of mileage. Plated Overcoat - episode 3 stealth armor, 62 armor, early purchase, I buy this for Kincaid even without the bonus of crafting it, evasion is awesome for the Krete that come piling in around this purchase. Leather armor may be a consideration. I use this for most of my guys till I find enchanted ones to replace it throughout episode 1. Enchanting this with what I want on it instead could make good armor till episode 2. Also consider the great armor from Granthorn. Normally I do not beeline for Granthorn because they are lots of money and the episode 3 armor from doing Brayes side I assume is better. However, someone who knows how the armours compare might be able to make a better analysis. I know I will be using a lot of Bloodstones at the episode 3 weapon store. Current late game considerations - Scimitar for melee Vincent as his current relic is not good, highest armor heavy armor for Fyona and Vraes (I personally have not been impressed with the enchanted versions I have found in episode 4, I would kill a legion of ogres for SP drain plate for Fyona), highest % auto block shields. The best robes I have found for damage have been 9 magical damage ones but if I could enchant a suit of light armor with better damage then that would go on Vincent (Kjartan would be stuck with robes and I don't think there are mundane ones for him to enchant). Also the highest damage 7 range 2 AP bow in episode 4, especially if you missed Frozenheart.

fallen will the upgrade be randomized every time or fixed? Example, if I were to enchant a keen falchion with a ring of war (+10 damage and 4% SP drain) would I always get the same keen falchion? Understandably it would change if I were to enchant it with a different item with the same properties (+12 damage and 2% SP drain would make a different item I assume) but if I were to do the same enchant across 2 games could I expect the exact same sword or similar swords?

If you had the exact mundane item + exact tuning item, then yes, you could expect the same result between two games.

We are in a happy habit now of pre-sharing plans about big things coming for any of our games, especially if there is an IAP involved. So, here goes! For some time, we have been working on a Heroes of Steel crafting system. Upon visiting any of the smiths in the world, you'll have the option to work on a crafting project with that smith. The input to the crafting system will be: - One mundane weapon, armor, shield
- Either 2 or 3 Bloodstones, based on the item you offer for crafting
- Optionally, a magical item of any kind to tune the crafting
The crafting process is basically an improvement + enchantment. You'll get back a weapon / armor / shield of the same type, with similar stats but some improvements to these stats. While the stat improvements are a nice start, the real bonus is the enchantment. The armament will come back with magical properties attached to it (+2% Critical, +6 Lit Dmg). The only input you will have on the type of magical properties attached to the item is to sacrifice another item to the crafting. This magical item will be consumed (destroyed) during the process, but its magical properties will be used to tune the magical properties that you get back in the crafting. Therefore, if you had a mundane sword, wanted a Lighting Sword, you could give the Sword + 2 Bloodstones + a Ring that has +Lightning Damage. You may not get a Lighting Sword, but you are going to get a result that is as closely matched to the Ring as possible. So, for example, if the Ring was +Lit and +Crit, then you might end up with a +Crit / + SP Drain sword instead. The crafting process will not provide visibility into the recipes (what you put in, what you can get out), nor specifics about how tuning works. However, the results of the crafting will be good items, in comparison to those that can be looted at the same time in the dungeon. Of course, you'll be able to agonize whether you should craft now, or hold on to your Bloodstones to craft later. The quality of the items will help make it appealing to craft now! We are planning to add an IAP called a Bloodstone Pack -- it is a one time purchase (not consumable) which will grant +20 Bloodstones to every group (new group and historical group). One time, not consumable. Fun for crafting more. One question we have -- how many Bloodstones do you have, and where is your group now?Other than that, we'd love to hear your thoughts on our plan. Damn, this sounds awesome. When will it be implemented? The only worry is that I actually sold every magical gear that I didn't use

The only worry is that I actually sold every magical gear that I didn't use We generally don't do ETAs, but I took some time to work on this over the holiday season and made good progress. Hopefully pretty soon. It competes pretty heavily with my other Heroes of Steel project -- working on the E4 story update.

Another thought I had dreaming about this: Now the magic store option is far superior to the Heartbeats?

But can you imagine the magic item you can make by forging it with the Heartbeats, it would be crazy!

But can you imagine the magic item you can make by forging it with the Heartbeats, it would be crazy! It will only do the closest gear stats on the existing (or future added) table for the given area as I understand it, so anything more than moderate stat items of interest will likely be wasted I expect.
