Noted something odd On Long Trail, leading with Big V go into combat and both type of ants (fire and storm) do not move for three turns. Final ran up near one, and only that one moved. The rest did not move during combat (of course I kill them shortly so they need not have a chance to move much)

Ants - Spiders, a bug to squash Back on long trail, the spiders there acted odd I remember that they were all together in one group at a cave branch except one and he was the only one that moved.
PS - the Orcin later were acting correctly.

I ran Big V near them, then they started moving and stop again. One of them heal the next round

Moved Big V and Fyona closer, and they moved next to them.

After killing the troll, have four other monster that have not moved. But they are far away at their original location. So off to kill them
One moved, it seam to be acting normally for far away monsters.

richard - thanks for the picture. This is an AI decision not to advance because of your formation. The AI makes a similar decision if you retreat to choke points that are just too advantageous. It refuses to advance. As you stated, once you moved your heroes around a little bit, the AI decided it was time to have a go at you.
