Note, for everybody reading this: The problem is that fallen just went paste paste paste paste paste. (like Cory Trese was asked to do with code.) Some of these ores are going to be renamed copper, and some silver, and some god knows what. I fear I must leave these things for the game authors, at least they have to fill in the blanks more. All the things I had the idea of 'what is this' I have stuck my name in with the description, i.e. Polymer Ingots -- Grävling has no idea what these are, and what they are good for but Refineries make them and sell them to Industrial settlements and Orbitals. Should make cleanup easier.

Maybe that text will just find its sweet way into 1.0.25 Well, for the alpha squad, fine. But I don't want to spend the next 7 years of my life explaining why my name is all over the pricelist to the hoards of new players. Thank you so much for all the hard work grävling and Brutus Aurelius! Huge +1 for you both

grävling the rarity grades reflect natural occurrence in nature. Iron, Copper and the like tend to be found commonly in large quantities. Silver would be an example of scarce as while it is found world wide you seldom discover it world wide seldom is it in the same abundance as Iron and Copper. Gold would be rare, yes it can be found all over but it generally requires more extensive technologies to extract large amounts and often the deposits aren't large. Platinum, Uranium etc are your very rare metals. Typically found in very localized areas, and difficult to extract even with advanced technology. Same for various types of Ore, some like Bauxite are very common and found in vast quantities with easy mining. Others are difficult to mine or generally found in smaller quantities.

Come by and just stick into the apprpriate column an example of what metals should be mentioned in each metal column. Never mind the who sells it and who buys, I can stick that in later. You already seem to understand this stuff, and I am still in the 'huh? what does that mean? stage' How rare is nickel? molybdinum? titanium? for a burrowing animal, I seem to have missed a lot about mining.

It's possible that what you are assuming is correct, and that some of the goods are just assigned to the wrong type of settlement. Aren't Crystals what they use for making/repairing Solar Sails? [and speaking of Sails, how come there is no mention of ST2 ships having these?] Crystals are used in all sorts of industrial operations. Historically, they were used in the production of the Solar Sails from ST RPG. However, it has been centuries, and technology has moved on. Hyperwarp Drives and Void Engine enhancements have knocked Solar Sails out of use. grävling - you've done amazing work! Thanks, but not just me, Matteus did much of it.

I think before xdesperado spends time on that, it wouldn't hurt to get confirmation from the Devs about whether "Earth" metals/elements exist in the ST Universe??
