Took a break from playing the hell out of CK for a few hours to check out the skirmish campaign, beat it(on normal) and I loved it.except the end...I think it coulda lasted about 3-5 more turns to make it a nail biter...only one go at it though...might a been just lucky.
The squad I used beat the rifts campaign and did about 6 or 7 skirmish missions before taking Carfix on.

Try using a Lone Captain.
THAT'S a nail-biter.
At first glance, I thought this mission is about fixing a vehicle that we could drive and crush the bugs under those giant AT wheels. ;D

At first glance I thought the mission was gonna be a puppet fox reminding me to ask for papers on the used leviathan armor I was thinking about buying or something.

Just finished Carfix too ... yes, the last level was way too short - I didn't run out of ammo even though it was really only my captain and a soldier doing all the killing. I think that yeah, 5 turns more would have made it more of a climax ... I'd have gone as far at 10 turns more, but it might be too much. dunno until we try though right? ;D
Hopefully there comes a time where you are able to destroy Xeno spawn points. Once that comes to fruition, it'll open up another exciting mission type where your team have to go and take out all of the Xeno spawn points on a map.

To add to the excitement, TB would make it so that the destruction of spawn points is NOT instantaneous! Meaning, it will blow up only 1-2 turns later! They are THAT evil! ;D

Yup great campaign, everything went off without any glitches. I thought the end was a litte short too (7 turns on normal) but that just means Ill do it again on hard. How often can we expect you to turn out one of these? Once a week?

What ... a new skirmish campaign once a week?!? Yikes, that's ambitious even for a large dev team

If we can get our hot little hands on the editor, it would be DAILY. ;D

it would mean many files (of untested buggy quality) being sent to me each day.
testing, integrating, profiling, adding briefing, victory HTML, generating paths, etc etc
it wouldn't necessarily make it faster. i bet if we tried it today it would slow me down.

Cory the rate you go is like breaking the sound barrier where most other devs seem to be driving golf carts as far us updating your games go....just in case you don't realize this. ;D But I'm now totally spoild and would hate to see you slow down for the sake of an editor...my vote is it can wait...but its a good thing to see the light of day much later.

oh the editor isn't the issue -- it is already available for download from www.mapeditor.org but getting the maps INTO our games is the tricky part. who knows what the future holds

Well, you could delegate that job to your right sock-puppet, couldn't you? And I'll start to work on one map first (probably get a custom tileset somewhere). Once you're done with all the pressing issues of TA (getting it to near V 1.0 or after), I'll then bother you about it. ;D
