So after i won on the 100x50 25 worlds map, i started opening and closing the game to read the notes on the loading screen. I was surprised to see that the Narvidians are present in the Quadrant. Wouldn't it be fun to have them in the game? Every turn, a Narvidian ship could have a very small chance of spawning somewhere within the Fog of War. Very sturdy and hard to defeat, sometimes rallying Xeno to protect it, but if defeated, it would grant either thousands of credits worth of resources or massive research bonuses. It's just an idea, but i think it would make the Founding ever more dramatic. To have the overlords of the Planetary Guild hits the Factions in their new home, recreate the glory of the Battle of Cirm.

That is a really cool idea. I like it very much.

If such Narvs could invade planets, then that would give players an actual reason to build defensive structures in their worlds that aren't directly in front of a xeno fleet. Definitely would make defensive tech more useful.

Thought of that too. If i play my cards right, i donĀ“t even need to research any FDF upgrade.

Yeah but a Narvidan fleet would not fit in with the lore. One Capital Narv ship is encountered every few hundred years and they are VERY hard to kill(the Captial ship) and you can't expect a Faction fleet to knock one out when all of the Templar order (and your squad) was needed.

There were Narv ships in STRPG weren't quite that tough and could be found at a higher frequency than once "every few hundred years", so I would think a few Narvs spawning in ST4X could fit the lore

But Hive mind ones like the one in BF ? (Well they all are hive minds) out of the question.

How many Hive Minds are there anyway? And are most of them in the Core?

How many Hive Minds are there anyway? And are most of them in the Core? From what we know, every Narvidian is it's own mind, with the ship around it and it's drones making up it's Hive. From what we know, the majority are still in the Galactic Core

I guess one appearing in your Quadrant would make lore sense if it was summoned by a traitorous bloodline, like in Battleforce.

Completely and totally unknown. But are they completely uncapable of establishing a civilization without slaves to do their work? Why don't they settle worlds and use their armies of drones to mine, build and expand? Perhaps they are already doing this in some distant quadrant unreachable by humans. Why are you sure they want to, anyway?

The Narvidians must have reached a certain point of self-awareness, sentience, if you will. What is the alternative, to roam space for eternity? If they didn't want to expand their race, why even enslave the Star Traders in the first place?
