Hey, as long as someone dies for any reason; or even lacking of, it's all good.

Updated Cadar Response Analysis Process (CRAP) on Potential Targets chart Good news ... I found a new 2nd officer. Actually, it was pieces of the old 2nd officer but Doctor Technologists work wonders these days. Attachments:

Being that this is a cardar decision tree, shouldn't all decisions lead to launch torpedo? I imagine even the flush toilet button launches a little waste disposal torpedo......

No ... there is strong honor in Cadar 1) No blowing up other Cadar ships (that aren't pirates) because you may be trigger happy, but you're loyal to Cadar. 2) ... no that's about it really. Every other action takes you to launching torpedoes.
I do have one teeny tiny possible change to the flow chart - when you're about be torn in two by an alien ship that is 1529+ levels higher than you, it MIGHT, and I say MIGHT be a good idea to stop with the torpedoes. If you are far enough away, retreat run away go find some reinforcements.
I'm not fully committed to this change though.

I find that firing a torpedo at the alien, so that you could retreat, is a great ruse tactic to cover your escape. insomniac- Cadars don't flush with torpedoes. We SHIT torpedoes.

There's no faction Rep loss if u kill a pirate from ur own faction?? blackgauntlet that sounds..... painful. everybody cadar must be compensating for something with all these torpedoes. (I always play javat and almost never use torpedoes)

Pirates are free game, since they prey on merchants flying their own flag. And shitting torpedoes isn't as painful as the person receiving it. I'm down for that.
And Cadar is not compensating with our use of torpedoes. It's like people are compensating with their use of spaceships. We just extend that thing everyone have with spaceships, beyond. To torpedo range. In AE 212, Cadarian statisticians, mathematicians and scientists gathered together for a conference to find a common denominator of all reasons.
Akin to Enlightenment, they found the answer: Torpedoes. Like Implants, Chainsaws and Mentos, it is a powerful problem-solving tool.
1) Alien infestation? Solved! 2) Pesky pirates? Solved! 3) Overpopulation? Solved! 4) Narvidian slave-drivers? Solved! 5) Encroachment of air-space? Solved! 6) Naughty smugglers? Solved! 7) Annoying in-laws? Solved! 8) Dishonest merchants? Solved! 9) Space Border Negotiations? Solved!
Name one problem that torpedoes could not solve.

Debris slows space traffic=spaceship congestion=easy targets Solved! BTW, I plagiarised that list from gravis' list on chainsaws. ;D

insomniac You can attack pirates of any faction without RP loss from that faction, BUT: Don't enslave the crew - you get docked RP for that Don't destroy the ship after you capture - you get docked RP for that Also, if the pirate's faction is allied with another faction, then you don't lose RP with the pirate's faction, but you do lose RP from the allied faction. Go figure.

@slayer - Really? So, if that stinking Thulun bugger is allied with Cadar, I'd lose rep with my own faction? That sucks!

Yeah ... definitely. Thulun shrug and say ..."them's the risk of being a pirate mate", but Cadar go "Pirate or not, that was a friend's ship".

And Thulun would say, "Friend or not, that was your own guy." Then Cadar would go, "Screw him! I am not going to jeopardize our 5 seconds of friendship that would up in a year of bitter hatred of each other- leading to a possible Solar War or, at least, an embargo- for a possibly lifetime of allegiance from the most fearsome and enterprising torpedo-array-in-space!"

...an alien ship that is 1529+ levels higher than you, it MIGHT, and I say MIGHT be a good idea to stop with the torpedoes. Actually, last time I have encountered lvl 6000+ alien ship I regret not firing torpedo. "Advance" was not a good tactics, maybe torpedo would work better .
