We can continue to research and purchase treaty work while the economy is in recession. We can make progress, but we must resolve these political gridlocks Ok, maybe I've been underground too long and didn't notice the canaries had stopped chirping. I think I just heard the voice of Shalun.

What is this? Some sort of role playing thread? Is there an actual game being played by some one? Are you like the politicians debating what to do?

Excuse my role breaking my fellow council members for an explanation is in order. ooc/ This is an actual game while we role play members of the council that deals with the matters revolving around settling and facing the xeno threat. Pax. Read the first page really to get the jist of it. /ic High command official resistor how many members can a faction council hold ? For i fear that there are too few voices amongst the Javati and Mok council members.

//OOC I will join Cadar. If I still can join? Alright, but can you make an account on the forum first? It's pretty easy if I recall correctly, you just need to set a name and password (at least I think that's how it was when I joined about four years ago). Excuse my role breaking my fellow council members for an explanation is in order. ooc/ This is an actual game while we role play members of the council that deals with the matters revolving around settling and facing the xeno threat. For i fear that there are too few voices amongst the Javati and Mok council members. I haven't set a limit so far, but I will say that no faction can have three times as many players as the smallest faction. That way Pax can join Cadar, but no more after that until someone joins Javat.

As things stand I believe ntsheep and I can handle representing Javat just fine. We'd welcome anyone who wants to join us but if not we're good. Between the mines, worrying about the Xenos and having an embargo on our torp loving colleges, things are exciting haha

Significant event log:

4.3 AE The Nyktos start sending many ships to Void of Batina on a campaign of destruction, while the three Templar vessels hold off as many xenos as they can.
4.9 AE Solar War starts between Moklumnue and Cadar, causing high maintenance costs and spiraling debt.
4.26 AE Cadar colony Void of Batina has been destroyed after many xeno assaults.
4.28 AE Cadar colony Slayer's Folly has been sold to Independents after losing much quality from xeno attacks

4.39 AE Star traders report increased Sidtax activity The Sidtax threat ends solar war between Cadar and Moklumnue.
4.40 AE Cadarian star traders have turned to commerce after the war with Moklumnue ended. Cadar establishes a Trade Route with Javat.
4.49 AE Increased Bolish activity reported by star traders. The Bolish threat ends Solar War between Moklumnue and Javat.
5.10 AE The treasury balance has become positive after over a year of debt. The Interstellar Recession is over.
5.19 AE Javat and Moklumnue establish a Trade Route to repair massive economic damage from the Recession.
5.30 AE A new Spy Battle has started between Javat and Moklumnue, ending the Trade Route.
5.32 AE Sidtax activity is decreasing.
5.33 AE Nyktos activity is increasing.
5.40 AE Star traders report reduced Bolish activity.
5.47 AE A Nyktos colony set up next to Cadar space, at the system formerly called Void of Batina. Star traders have begun calling this system "Bathore".
end log
//OOC At one point the debt was at -5k. So glad we are back in the black. By the way, all political efforts in the Interstellar Recession were wasted. Either the treaties failed or the conflict type changed just before the treaty was complete.
I am surprised Javat has been mostly friendly with Cadar and hostile to Moklumnue. When the game began, I had expected the clans would be more politically united and oppose Cadar.

Compatriots, we need to address the growing Xeno threat. The alien bastards are practically on our doorstep!

This politics are impossible to manage! How are we supposed to even defend the outer colonies like this!? What is the current state of our technology advancements?

I believe a simple focus on trying to construct as many ships as the budget allows while trying to maximize income to debt is a wise course of action. As a Javat, of course I believe that mines are the primary source of income for all. Upgrades for exist ones and the construction of new units I think should be a secondary focus.

6.0 AE Esteemed delegates, it has been more than two years since our last meeting, the challenges we face now are of a different nature than the ones we faced during the Recession. May Shalun guide us. The main threat is, of course, the Xeno world Bathore that the Nyktos have established on the ruins of a Cadar colony. Templar Command is eager to here your proposals on how to proceed in destroying Bathore and defend our colonies. It may be tempting to divert all funds into military projects, but remember our economy is still recovering and vulnerable. Military:
Here is the current map of the quadrant: The Nyktos are the greatest threat right now. I would like to remind everyone that Nyktos are known for using radiation weaponry, and so any ships designed to push them back should have good shielding. The Sidtax are currently unaware of our presence, but are encroaching on the Shimmering Belt. The Bolish are not currently a threat. The are in possession of very few worlds, and they are so far away that no Bolish ship or world has been spotted yet. Technology:These are our known technologies: Colonies:Here is our colony report: When the Interstellar Recession ended, most of our newly acquired funds went to upgrading hab units on crowded worlds, spice establishments for worlds short on spice, and factories for unproductive worlds. Leftover funds were used to upgrade or construct several mines on Javat Prime. PoliticsThere is a Spy Battle between Javat and Moklumnue. Javat and Cadar have established a Trade Route.
