I lost two captains in a row both in the same patern.
First I encounter an alien, I try fighting against them but with little success and the alien gets closer to board the ship.
The first hit from getting boarded kills some of my crew and damages my captain, but doesn't kill him.
I decide that the odds are against me and the life of my captain is more important and hit surrender with the goal of escaping from the situation in my escape shuttle.
But instead of being greeted by the escape shuttle screen, I get the game over one and my captain is dead.
For the first captain I just thought it was a bad roll. He only had 6 health left and the alien was very high level (100+) so I assumed that he just got wounded heavily while escaping and died.
However the second captain still had 9 health left and the alien was very low level.
I'm certain of his health since it showed when I got hit in the boarding attack and certain that he had an escape shuttle since he was flying the standard Picky beggar, which has an escape shuttle included from the start.
Can weak aliens really deal 9 damage in one hit? Since that seems a bit unfair.
Or does the escape shuttle not work while surrendering to xenos anymore?
It's a shame since it means that encountering a xeno with a non-combat captain is a certain death.
But updating the ingame text to tell that it does protect from surrendering against faction ships but not against aliens would probably indeed be the easiest solution, it would avoid misunderstandings like this in the future, without needing too much time since I know you are very busy with the new Cyberknights game and updates for Frontiers.
