cyber isn't realistic. Star Trek T.O.S. Kirk pulls out and flips open communicator. "Kirk to Enterprise" Now you just open/unlock your cell phone (and 90% made in the last 4 years understand voice commands) "Call Mary's Mobile" within 40 years from imagined idea to reality (Satellite phones can call the ISS ) ... not too shabby. what year is it? when is the game set? cyber is only unrealistic if you don't brainstorm feasible potential real world counterparts too. They merely have better refined science and technology. suspension of disbelief, try it...its fun!

Don't know about it now, but there was some research into fixing blindness with some kind of fiber optics.
Read about it in some magazine 10 years ago... sadly it probably didn't go anywhere.

More sad: It did go somewhere, but not the way you think. Look to the newer head cam optics for certain Armies. You think rival companies are the only ones looking through the patent offices? dare I say they encroach very close to the original SmartGun Links.
And that is only what slightly leaks or gets shown for media ala Mil TV or so. That's not even close to what D/a/r/p/a/ can do.

Yeah, yeah... we know that already from seeing it in the blog everyday. But from the speed we are going, as long as there is no WW3, I believe CK will be rather low-tech actually. i wish that cellphone had gone somewhere...i probably would have got one As long as that "somewhere" is not "up where the sun don't shine", I wouldn't mind losing a couple DVs for one too. ;D

In CK, the world, environment, and even technology have worked against technological advancement. Our world is very advanced, but advances in destructive forces often out-pace the advances in constructive or communication technologies.

such is the empathy that humans have emotions do strange things, not just to people...but the models by which society has been built on.
