Er, I already made it unwritable except by a few email addresses -- ask me if you want to be added -- at the time I froze the title row ... Isn't that what was wanted?

I think it's good. I was just saying that locking it doesn't totally limit the functionality that a visitor might want because they can always make a copy of it and then they can sort it however they want, which might make changes to it that others might not want.

Yes, I have submitted a request to the google group about google docs productforums.google.com/forum/#!categories/docs/spreadsheets/how-do-i/desktop--other-please-specify/chrome-browser this seems to be a broader category than what I have but, what the heck... What I want is to make it impossible for others to delete rows or change values unless they are part of a select set of editing allowed email addresses. But I do want them to be able to sort weapons by price, or by neighbourhoods, or by any other of the columns we care to have. And filter -- only interested in things in the tunnels now -- I am not sure that what I want is allowed, but we will see.

Okay, I have the answwer. What I want is to make some _Filter Views_ which can be saved. Indeed, people can suggest what sort of views they would be interested in saving. Documentation on Filter Views here: support.google.com/docs/answer/3540681?hl=enUnfortunately for us, Filter Views are only available in the new version of google docs. And our sheet is old style. Apparently Google will be converting all sheets to be new style over the next few months. I am now looking for a way to request that ours is moved sooner -- or if I could just create a new style sheet, I could just copy all the data there.

Okay, I figured out how to get a new style sheet. Can somebodies other than me figure out exactly what you want in Filter Views?

grävling - can you post the most recent link to the sheet? The link I found references a file you've moved into the trash.

Okay, I figured out how to get a new style sheet. Can somebodies other than me figure out exactly what you want in Filter Views? I'm mulling this over. It seems like there are a lot of possible filters to create. Recently I sorted the sheet 1) to find weapons that had range 1 since I wanted to compare various melee weapons. 2) to see all the weapons that were available in my current region and the ones next door. 3) to find all of the computers that were sold by Officer Mitchell so I could compare them with some others I was looking at. Again, it seems like there are endless combinations people might filter for, it will be hard to figure out what are the most used ones. I also rely on sorts more than filters because sometime I want to see prices listed from highest to lowest, not necessarily one prince range. It would be nice if people who were just viewing it could create their own filter views.

What would be possible is to copy the sheet to your own copy, make the filter view you want there, and then tell me what filter view you want and have me add it. This is for people who don't want editing rights. If you want them, you can just make all the sharable filter view you like.

It would be nice to have an additional column in the Equipment tab, describing the type of equipment: computer/electronic, chem/medkit, Matrix document, ammo, etc. Plus, an Elite-only checkbox would be useful

I will put this in. I think that what sort of equipment is already obvious -- only computers have jobs and MP storage, only chems and medkits heal you, drugs mess with your HP and MP (and sometimes remove exhaustion), the Matrix documents are already labelled 'Quantum Computer Files' .... is there something being left out here that I am missing?

First of all, all the kudos imaginable to the reference sheet and the wonderful people who maintain it. Seriously. I've been perusing it for about a year now, ever since I got my feet wet (with the blood of my enemies) in the NBZ and wanted to try a little more than poking around in the dark.
A few things. And I'll preface this section by saying that it's entirely possible that I'm just overlooking something obvious somewhere.
With the exception of Knashers, Chrome Teeth, and Retaliation Jaw (and the armors), I wasn't able to find the hund-related gear (implants and all that.) Again, it's entirely possible that I'm just blind, so there's that.
On the subject of implants, is there any way of determining which ones are incompatible with one another via the reference sheet? I'm running a Hunder after a fair hiatus, and I haven't started looking into implants much yet so I don't remember if that information is readily found ingame, or for that matter if it's even really an issue (I seem to remember, for instance, a few types of lenses, of which you could only have one installed at a time, but that was a good while ago that I was playing regularly.)
And finally, could the sheet include whether a weapon deals lethal or non-lethal damage? That was a lot of why I was looking at it again today and I couldn't find it. I can't stress enough though that I could just be missing something painfully obvious. :3
Anyway. Just a couple of small things I was curious about. I really, really appreciate having that veritable dragon's hoard of information handy. As an aside, I pretty much have nothing /but/ time on my hands for the time being, so if there's anything I can be of use with, y'know. It's nice to be productive! XD
Thanks, and sorry for the wall of text. :3
