Probably the only Narvidian I'll do for a while. These suckers are bloody complicated!

dayan - I disappear for one day and come back to this! Amazing work, I especially like the sketches of the Bounty Hunter and the First officer. Narvidian is great too! For the record, I like the less noisy ship fight. I always loved the idea of slug weapons in space (even though they are not practical in the slightest) and seeing the muzzle flashes and nothing else looks nice!

I'd always figured they were more practical than energy weapons like lasers. Example: the carbon-carbon heat shielding that modern spacecraft have for re-entry are designed for defeating extraordinarily high temperatures. Shuttles might lose a panel or two due to atmospheric drag afterwards, but thats the only damage that is incurred. Now compare that to a simple paint flecks and micrometeors that are a regular damage hazard for spacecraft and satellites. Now certainly in the far future, advances in metallurgy and engineering will make those things far less of a problem. But the precedent stands that kinetic energy damage seems far more problematic and harder to defend against than heat. <_< >_>' I'll go back to drawing now....

Thanks fellas. I'm going to try and figure out the XO's coat buttons and sketch some more officers. but here's what I've done so far in the Xeno vs Templar department.

You got it. I have a bit more than half the Officers inked, scanned and cleaned up. Ill release them as I finish coloring them with no background and then altogether for a staff photo type deal you see with ensemble casts. I had to take a liberty or two with the EXO officer but everyone else is pretty close to the original -er your updated art. It'll be a good place to show the size comparison with the Templar in the background too.

LOL Something to consider. Here is my rendition of the supply (trade) officer I just sketched. He strikes me as a sneaky guy with sticky fingers who can grease his way into any merchant's exchange. Or fencing operation. or probably someone's underthings. Man he seems Italian XD.

Really awesome work, as always. Curious about one thing; about how long does it take for you to sketch out one of those masterpieces? And another if you don't mind, do you work in an art or design related field? If not, man that's some awesome skill.

I went to art school but didnt learn the main lesson: doesn't matter how good you are if you can't network.
How long it takes to sketch varies. Roughs like these can take 30 minutes for people without too many details, an hour or more for technical stuff like robots, suits, ect. Then I usually transfer via lightboard and scan. Cleaning up ink bleeds, perspective or scale flubs at least an hour, and coloring can last a few hours more. It depends on how fast Im pushing myself.

One more officer to draw, two more to ink & scan before I start coloring. I got distracted writing a couple articles for the BattleTech blog. Is there a graphical chart that shows ship classes with their names? I'd like to know what I just sketched.
