So I started a new game last night. New strategy is to create a group that is just bristling with firepower. We won't run, heck we'll barely move because we'll be so heavily armored and rain down hell on anyone that gets within range. It's going to take me awhile to get there.
But it got me wondering, does anyone use the shotguns in the game? I've never tried one, mostly because of the cost of ammo, but who knows they might be worth it.

I don't use them either. Mostly because of the rate of fire, I prefer guns that can fire a lot (like assault rifles) than guns that are slow but powerful.
You get yourself in a very difficult challenge. What difficulty are you playing in ?

Never tried one.. Yes, part of it is cost of ammo. Been tempted to have a gunslinger use one. Not sure if a sniper could, but that would be good so they have a solid close-in weapon just in case as they can't use gloves.

I just moved up to the second highest difficulty (Crazy?) and am going to go through MnB again to get a different ending. On a side note, which types of runners can use automatic weapons that use auto ammo, like the Blaze IV(?) and Liquid?

I thought about it but as most enemies fire like 4 squares out I felt that a shotgun would be useless.

I often carry a shotgun as my second weapon for a gunslinger. If someone is in close (Hund, Clubber) then I can switch over quickly and lay down an immense amount of damage. In the meantime, I use a fast firing machine pistol to keep them at distance ... but if they close, boom-boom.

My new tactic is: Keep them down and keep them far. When a hund attacks, then I just pull out my stun gun and ZZZZAP! One hund less... works out well...

You can find snipers in blue ox backroom, Yakashima's and a 3rd one but I can't remember who now. Personaly, I prefer taking cyberswords with me to protect my CK that is using long range weapons and a 2nd one with high electronics to disarm bombs

While waiting for the update, I tried a sandbox Face and got her a shotgun. Naturally I can't find heavy ammo in Los V. Grrr...

Hmm... but can I get there without getting shot? That's Fenn territory right? I may have made then unhappy with me... lol I'll just have to shoot everything that moves.
Do you gain rep for killing enemies your faction wars with?

Old Kenmore is Streets territory (above The Fenns); I'm not sure about the rep for killing enemies thing - maybe, but I don't know for certain.

If you want to limit loss of rep, try stunning them (with non-lethal weapons) or escaping combats.

My team is developing. I've got a gunslinger and an agent ex. I just want to get them some chrome and better armor and they will be ready to stand and slug it out just about anywhere. I have yet to find a runner who can wield a shot gun. It would be nice if gun slingers were able to use them as well.
I'm thinking of getting combat blades for my gunslinger, would that allow him to use automatic weapons?
