Please Leave a Star Rating if you enjoy this game
v1.8.0 - 2/4/2014 - Fixing XP bonus in Made, Not Born story ending - Fixing crash with rival enforcers encounter - Stone Cold Fox (Camden St) & Boston Exporters Inc (Commonwealth) are now basic "Package Hub" Connectors - Off-duty Bravestar no longer bring any Drones across the wall - Sara Scott now hires Face Runners from Yakashima VIP Rooms - V-Chips can be sold for credits - Fixing dialog typos & reported crashes
Elite ended up being v1.8.1. We will fix the inconsistency with the next release.
This release introduces the first forward change for the job system. The first few steps will be slow, but I'd expect us to pick up pace quickly as we work to replace the 216 Connectors that are scattered across the NBZ, its backrooms, data lines, and street-level shops.
You'll find that Stone Cold Fox (Camden St) & Boston Exporters Inc (Commonwealth) are now basic "Package Hub" Connectors.
These package hub connectors ARE: 1) Interested in you delivering messages, packages, and picking up packages. 2) Interested in a certain set of targets, based on their faction. 3) Interested in targets on the outside of the wall 4) Balanced in price to existing NBZ contracts you can get from other Connectors.
These package hub connectors are NOT: 1) Identifying themselves as different in the UI. 2) Respecting your increased Reputation and providing you with better paying jobs. 3) Recognizing your increased XP and sending you to more dangerous places. 4) Making any special allowances in their offers based on NBZ Rumors and Conflicts.
The next few releases will address 1-4 in the NOT category.
We'd love any feedback or reports on job bugs if you are taking jobs from these 2 new shops!

Oooo... this will be fun. Will we see other job hubs as well in the future? I would love to kidnap some people for a couple hours.
I'd thought what I'd do, was pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes- Catcher in the Rye/G.I.T.S SAC

abysmal - oh yes ... would be boring if the entire game revolved around Package Hubs.

v1.8.0 - 2/4/2014 - Sara Scott now hires (should be brokers) Face Runners from Yakashima VIP Rooms 3) Interested in targets on the outside of the wall, they should not send (fallen this sentence is unfinished)

Swami - thanks, fixed (3). I think the Sara Scott thing is clear. abysmal - of course. But you want a great mix of Data Hubs, Paramilitary, and other types of varied Connectors. Looking forward to commentary on game play!

Swami - thanks, fixed (3). I think the Sara Scott thing is clear. If you insist on hires you need it to say hires out.(Hires implies she is hiring the runner and actually, you are hiring the runner.)

Ooooh. This will be fun. But goodness ... Boston Exporters has been a long favourite of mine for its pricey low level Assassination jobs. I will miss those ....

It's good to warn you up front ... the rewrite of the jobs system is going to mean this kind of change is going to be rampant. The new world should be much more fun, engaging, provide you a clear progression, as well as be reactive to the state of the NBZ ... hopefully this is a worthy trade to the fact that Tuckmore's is going to eventually offer very different jobs

This is all going to be so much more fun.

fallen - my thanks to everyone for all the hard work, the game is shaping up nicely! Bugs: From both new hubs: I've had deliveries to data terminals. Found it odd, not sure if it's intended. From Boston Exporters Inc: I have received a couple of jobs to drop off at non-existant Knights Horizon Forward base (Boston Harbor). I did run into this in previous versions but never recalled their point of origin.

Yeah...uhm, so my reading comprehension is not what it normally is. Living in a town different than my family until we close on the house tomorrow, frequent 4 hour round-trips back to see them as often as I can, waking up between 2:30-4 am to get ready for work...etc.
That said, I am trying to get a feel for the new dynamic for the jobs offered. I started a new character a few days ago before the job changes and just upgraded to a fancy 6 job computer, and am finding it fairly difficult to make use of that many job slots.
The problems I am running into are these:
1. Can't cycle through jobs that I don't want. I have to accept a job and then abandon it taking a rep hit before the connector will offer a new job.
2. Hard to get jobs that are all against the same faction and not against a faction I am trying to stay friendly with.
3. Even if I get a set of jobs that are against my chosen enemies, if I get up to 6 of them I am being sent all over the map.
Brain no workie. Tired of running from connector to connector trying to get jobs that work for my knight. Spending more time looking for jobs than doing them, a little bit too much like what my real life was like last year, lol.
I am assuming from what I could glean from the above discussion, this is all part of a job rebalance in progress, and it should sort itself out to something more dynamic and balanced in the next few updates. Am I understanding correctly?
