I was thinking of the insane stats rolled for alien captains, like scary-high pilot or great tactics... Yeah, when you're facing an Alien at 3.5X your level, it's gonna have stats/skills > 2X yours and kick your ass no matter what ship you've got. I'm not suggesting increasing the max values above what the Alien ships have -- just up to what they sport, to even the odds up a bit. And it would be nice to change the min/max on the ship designer inspection checks to match what the catalog actually has, so that all current ship designs (excluding Alien and Hulk designs, and assuming all appropriate awards are earned/purchased) can be created using the designer. In my opinion, you should consider it a bug that those designs like Omega Cruiser can't be made now; you said it followed the same rules and it clearly doesn't.

Alright I have a solution Cory Trese and fallen: - Every statistic equals a certain amount of "points", the amount which depends on the ststietic's importance and maximum statistic ability. For example, crew has least number of points, engines has more points than sails, etc - There is a maximum number of "points" that a ship can have, based on the "points" of other high-end ships (slayernz, carnifex, titan cruiser, desda megalift) - Statistics can be pushed passed their "normal" max (max currently implemented), however the number of points for statistics passed max increases (eg 1 engine = 5 points but 1 engine passed 50 engines = 10 points) - In addiiton to a normal max, their is also an "absolute" max which statistics cannot go above no matter what - Absolute max depends on max statistics of already-made ships (eg highest engine ship has 62 engines so absolute max engines would be about 60-65) - Rank needed to push stats past normal max - Custom-made ships have 2x price compared to normal ships - Statistic balance relating to armor compared to hull, prupoltion compared to size, sails compared to engines etc still exists, but tweaked so that ships simmilar to high-end already-made ships can be created With these new rules, custom ships can be as good as high-end ships without being too overbalanced and with rank/credit penalties for additional balance

Why don't we allow players to modify existing ships? Just make the cost expensive. If someone want to add extra stuff to Omega Cruiser, let them pay the high price. I cannot care less if I have to use 1 million just to add some stuff to the Omega Cruiser. By then money is almost no object anyway.

There were many times, as you've shown in the charts, where I bent the rules. Right now, the ship designer doesn't have any bending. I'm working on your suggestion, in a form and fashion -- "change the min/max on the ship designer inspection checks to match what the catalog actually has, so that all current ship designs"

I think looking at all the designs will be another draw of the Ship Designer

Cory you did fix the bug where it kept jumping to the tol of the screen when you made changes in ship designer. Its now back with a vengeance in latest update! You've got to share details about your device if you think the bug is back. We support about 5000 devices and when it comes to Android, every version and screen size is a different game. I'm glad to say the bug is gone with a vengeance on our big devices by %, at least normal stock ones from the test pool or via virts! If you're having an issue, please do post your device info and I can try to hack up a solution for it, so long as it doesn't break anyone else.

A lot of what you said is already in the system in one form or another. The issue at hand is not that the math or the system that's been built -- three years of work. I have made a set of adjustments moving from 1.9995 to 2.1995 for the internal technical caps. Some of the caps went as high as 2.3995 to include the really "pushing" designs.
