Fenikso, I think that the Omega Cruiser is actually one of those few ships that Cory pushed through that didn't comply with the ship rules. Armor is always >50% of the hull size, and based on the amount of other components (cargo size, weapons, etc) the hull actually needed to be at least 26 or 27. I ended up with: Omega cruiser: 15 15 33 38 180 90 30 21 Designer: 26 13 33 38 160 90 28* 21 (Price $669,017) I haven't unlocked the guns yet, so am limited to only 28 of the ole pea-shooters. The ship is too unstable/small for a hull size of 15, and even at 26, armor can only be 13 without upgrades.

Well, it is understandable, but still, I was disappointed to find out. I really hoped to design a ship worth at least 10M$ and have something to do late game.

Yeah I hear you. They just don't make things big and expensive the way they used to before the Exodus. I asked my shipwright about that the other day and you know what he said? "You know, between you and me, most of these custom ships are just cargo shuttles with some shipping crates welded to the hull. We got's some terrific experts in paper mâché, so most of the lay folk don't know the difference. They're just happy that the thing looks big, and has lots of engine mounts and guns and other things."
At that point, I decided to change shipwrights.

I wish Cory would increase the max values and scale the expense appropriately. Like increase the max for Hull/Engines/Sails to 100 (or even higher) and make it more expensive for each point of hull > 50, each engine > 50, each sail > 50. And increasingly more expensive for each, in a geometric progression, so the costs get really high when you make ships with ridiculous numbers. I'd like to make some really smoking ships that cost hundreds of millions or billions of credits.

I agree that you should be able to buy ridiculously expensive ships, but maybe the custom ships are too cheap as they are - I feel that the price of the ships should be 2x or even 4x what they currently are, because let's face it, they're custom. You shouldn't expect to pay the same amount as a stock standard ship!

Thanks for all the feedback - great all around. We will keep working on improving as we go!

I'm experiencing a small bug with the ship designer.
Every time I alter any of the stats, With buttons or sliders, my screen jumps to the top.

How did you make that beast that probably resembles an asteroid! I needed that in my last game when I was over Level 30s. I think you will still die if you have enough horrible encounters at Demanding or higher difficulty level. You can run into a nasty alien encounter in deep space, you win with damage and depleted crew. We all know you cannot recruit fast enough to get all the crew back to strength. Along the way in your recruiting campaign, you run into more aliens or some high levels bounty hunter /pirates that shoot the crap out of you before boarding. I created a less nasty version and died never the less.

Brother Dervin Jr. might be able to beat his predecessor's recored of 60 something aliens killed. And yet considering that your ship is factored into your enemy level there might just be something that could bring you down out there.

I was thinking of the insane stats rolled for alien captains, like scary-high pilot or great tactics...
