I have to say the ending of E3 is pretty good. It was much more complicated than I was expecting, but very good. I haven't yet started mulling about what's next. I'm wondering though how you're going to resolve all of this with just one more episode.

Bone Pass: I approached it from North and South to be sure it is truly blocked by ice. So access to the Storm Brothers will open up in EP-4. They are described as having a Bastion on the surface above the pass that withstood the Shattering. In EP-2 Cortias says he will seek a monastery in the mountains. Could there be a connection here? EP-3 I will need to pay closer attention to the dialog in my next run with a new group. My thoughts keep returning to a really horrible possibility surrounding the Seer Lord Kri. I think that Kri has harnessed magic so old that it existed before the Gods. How is it the Seer Lords could foresee the Shattering and take action without Ellista seeing what they were about to do? Why would Death not send Ryethin to investigate before they could erect the barrier? Surely Death the final reaper of souls would jealously guard this power and was unable to see or prevent it. Have you ever looked closely at the Tarot card representing Death? All things fall before the reaper.
So perhaps the All Father used one type of magic to create, but there was a far older magic the chaos of the void from which creation has it's beginnings. Are the Seer Lords really contemporaries of the Gods versus creations of the All Father? I believe Kri and his servants Rasp and Emesai are the true threat re-creating the world in their own image as the barrier continues to expand swallowing and transforming unchecked everything it touches now that the counterbalance of the Gods has failed and a power vacuum opened. Nikolai and the Chosen four could not withstand the power of Kri and were lucky to escape with their lives.
I'm not positive but I think Ryethin made a comment about Death following where the Chosen lead. So are the Chosen mistaken about being her servants and it is in fact the other way around?

The Storm Brothers plot line is part of Ep 3 but will be unveiled in a future patch release. Last I checked with fallen this was "coming soon"(tm).

There are, before the CoD, some references about the Seer Lords, and eventually we found them. There are even more references (if I'm not mistaken) to a people living in the Underdeep and building structures before the humans. My suspect is that in E4 we will know who these "Old Ones" are. Maybe they will be fundamental on helping our heroes.
Moreover, we know that the All-Father only wielded the power of creation, but he is not the power, and we know that now the Seer Lord are more powerful (or, at least, powerful thesame) than the Gods themselves. My suspectis that the All-Father and the Gods are, for the "Old Ones", the analogous of the Seer Lords for humans. Maybe the All-Father was the master of using the Powers in the world, and the Children were his disciples. This was later distorted by the humans in all their myths about them. The difference with the Seer Lords maybe is only in the way they mastered using the powers of the world (or how many powers they mastered, for the Seer Lords at least they know how to repel the power of Death), so they weren't touched by the Shattering because they had a different kind of using magic.

On of my favorite lines in the game is something Cortias says:
"You may have come seeking a relic, but you will not find it here. Only me, now awake, and the madness running wild in my head." "I am a broken vessel, a protector without a home, a blade hungry for death." "You humans are just as broken . . . but somehow you refuse to see it."
This is, arguably, the opinion of one crazy God, but I love the line and it was a part of the original scene that inspired the creation of the world of Steel (which was, waking Cortias and meeting Ryethin).

I've been playing games for.... I don't know, 16 years now, and every time one of the Gods shows up I get so caught up in the moment and the text that I can't help but draw that excited breath. My favorite moment with a God is still when Ryethin comes in as Cortias is ready to cut us down.... Still get chills...

That scene is the kernel that started the whole creation of Heroes Can't love it enough lol

Fallen... That begs the question... What was your inspiration for this glorious game/work/story we are all so addicted to?

crimsonshadow - the first thing I thought of was the scene with Cortias, the meeting of a God who has slept to hold his sanity together, and the appearance of his Sister, trailing her Death.

Is there a point to the towers of Sorrow and Horror? I can enter them but that's about it, there's no treasure in the chests and no bad guys to kill.

@trese brother lover - if you've defeated the other matched Tower, then you cannot enter them. This is on our to-do list to add story notices about it.
