My Fyona is decked in Boneblood as the +180 really helps her tank it up!
As a place to buy armor, you can't beat Granthorn. I'd agree the Bonesteel Plate is pretty hard to beat, and you're very lucky to have drawn it from Vlotgar's loot drop!

That bone steel plate look a pretty shiny piece I say. Pity I drop the chance to add another notch to Kincaid blade and pass up the chance to get some rare loot. I hope that story arc continues somewhere in ep 3 or 4 but not really sure if having multiple story arc based on player choice is really on the plate as far as game design go

rygar - non-linearity and branching story arcs has been in the design since the beginning and the KickStarter. So, you'll find a pretty different result if you leave him alive vs. kill him in later encounters.

fallen cheers to that. The distinguished lore , backdrop and plot is really a bonus to a SRPG game like this. Look forward to a sojourn with Vlotgar and that hottie he took off with

I gotta say I did not find the underforge difficult at all. I've only done it once with the 4 original characters. I didn't find the entrance when I first cleared out the Cult Underhouse, so I went on to Granthorn and then completed all the quests in the Northeast before returning to search for the secret door in the Cult Underhouse. I can't remember what level my characters were at , but it must have been pretty high when I got there. The only thing that bugged me was I went into the one called Smith's Horde and it had a red locked chest and I thought I would figure out later how to get into it. After killing V that was not an option.  Next time! |

fallingleaf Which difficulty are you playing on? I think heading to Granthorn and clearing all those additional quests in the Northeast before hitting the Underforge really paid off for your party!

Lord Gansai Playing on normal difficulty. That was my first game so there was a lot of learning curve going on there (65 deaths, but I don't think any of them were in the underforge). I have yet to reach EP2 with another party, but after reading this thread I might do it the same way again. I have two other groups going and the farthest along are on Nightmare, so I imagine hitting the underforge too early with them could be deadly!

I gotta say I did not find the underforge difficult at all. I just went through the UF for the third time and it felt like a breeze with no deaths. I can't say enough about all the different ideas I've picked up here in the forums from group builds to tactics. I remember my first slog through the Underforge was literally a slog. I would get bogged down in crazy long fights with spiders spawning and no real effective way to move forward. This time I had the speed and damage output to slice through everything those cultists threw at me. |

@rearick, I had a similar situation with a nightmare group that I recently had to abandon before I even made it to the Great Shaman. I was way too focused on defense and couldn't do enough damage, so fights went on forever and drained my resources down to my last potion. It's all about balance. i think good AOE attacks are probably critical for the UF as well. My current NM group just arrived in Brunehorn and KJ has put zero points into Fireball, but 2 into Firestorm.
