Here's me a few years into my war with the Alien. I have only four worlds; my piece of the quadrant is pretty desolate, with the only nearby worlds belonging to the Enemy. So I focused on improving my worlds, and on research for planetary invasion. Then the war started. I had only 4 ships to start with, so I started pumping out strike fighters. My initial war chest was more than 13,000 credits. Now, I'm deeply in debt, and my invasion force is hopelessly outnumbered. Maybe I shouldn't have played on hard. ;-)

"Give up the ghost" is just an expression. Means to give up or drop dead.

But if it's your game, what ghost are the Bros giving up?

But if it's your game, what ghost are the Bros giving up? Perhaps I should have used the more traditional grammar and said, "If you were playing and found yourself in this situation, would you give up".

Ah, okay. I didn't know the context. Good game?

They are. I guess it's my turn to explain (lol)- good game is pretty much the same as 'game over. You tried.'.

Lol. Yes, as far as I can see, it's time to say "good game".

Yeah, you have lost.
The game should probably find a way to tell you that.
1) Colonize more worlds, even if you have to cross red
2) when the xeno comes, don't let them draw you out of the green
3) try again on one lower difficulty
If you have Credits of 13,000 you were close man, very close. just couldn't sustain that navy with 4 worlds.
did you use Repair a lot with those Paladins?

Not yet. I assume it adds a new level of nastiness?

Not yet. I assume it adds a new level of nastiness? If you are fighting in Red Zones, being able run back to a Refuel-Paladin and get +50 W-F in a turn can be a huge boost. lets your fighters keep using Heavy.
