So recently I finally made it through Made Not Born, but I seem to have hit a wall regarding the ending options. From what I can gather, if you let them both go you get a boatload of Mars data, and if you sell it Mars will be all over you every time you pass through, and you no longer get any mars jobs. Alternatively, you keep Elizabeth, but save her mom, you get the best (she can equip anything) runner in the game, and Mars still hates you. Finally, if you turn them both in, you get a buttload of money and everyone loves you, the end. Anyway, I was wondering what option you, the reader, picked, and why. I'm very much leaning towards either turning them in or hiring on Elizabeth, so it would be nice to know which one is better in the long run. From what I can tell there's no more story after this, so I would like to pick the best option going into sandbox. Also, if I do anything but what mars asks, can I ever work for them again? I currently reap the benefits of a high Mars reputation, and while I could get by with another corp, I would love to be able to go shopping without being shot at.

Zanithos I chose to save them both, because my good old Josh is still a human being despite his knighthood and, also and mostly, because he doesn't like to be taken from behind by megacorps and Mars was badly doing so. I am not sure that spoiling the truth about them here on such a thread would be wise, but that truth was what finally made me choosing to set them both free. I don't mind Mars hating on me ; I never had a good rep with them and the paydata sells opened me the gates to some high stages of another's faction ladder, which was really appreciable.

You don't really know though if that was an idea maliciously planted by them or not. We here at Mars solely believe that the pay was more than adequate for a recovery mission. We assume no liability for unruly side effects of back office med clinics such as amnesia. Thank you.

Bohrson - Well, out of the kindness of my heart, I really would like to save at least Sara (I need *some* kind of reward after all), but the Darwinian nature of the NBZ is *REALLY* pushing me towards turning them in. Part of it is for convenience (Mars gear is second to none, save for a few items), part of it is for my own survival (Mars troops fire entirely too many bullets per round), and part of it is for continuity. After this character gets old I'm thinking of starting a "female 3" playthrough as a hacker, and go from there. Of course it also depends on how tough the Mars hit squads actually are. Truthfully, Bravestar is more my kind of organization, so I wouldn't feel too bad telling Mars to take my V-chip and shove it, but I'd like to weigh my options before I do.

abysmal - You have a good point, but deep down I feel Mars and the other megacorps are a *bit* too shady for my liking... You can't deny they make freakin' quality gear though. Honestly, it's all I ever use, and the Krakken Hardsuit mk3 is in my opinion the best armor in the whole NBZ. Hard armor with both decent protection *and* a high dodge rating? Yes please!

Zanithos There are ways to get Mars stuff and even better without actually dealing with Mars. There is a Los Val shop that sells Mars surplus, there are backrooms salesmen that brings Mars gear in other organisation's territories (like Yakashima, in whose backrooms is a guy who sells Kraken Armors if my memory is correct), etc. ; so I wouldn't worry about getting quality gear while being Mars' enemy.

Bohrson - I am aware of Clickers the Armor Fixer, who hangs out in the Bravestar backrooms, and he's pretty much my npc-bro for life. The problem for me concerning Mars equipment is that many stores only sell certain items and high-value implants in Mars territory, and I'm sure most of AzTek/Yakashima's high-paying jobs will send me there as well. For example, there's a certain SMG that I've only found in one Mars store (and nowhere else), and most AzTek jobs that my old pre-MNB character did took place in Mars territory. On a side note, I did save the MarsCorp rep-boosters just in case, but I doubt they'll be good enough to let me back into Mars territory without having to bust caps left and right. As appealing as that would be if I had my old character (a gunslinger with maxed stats, the highest-range/dmg LMG, wolverine claws, and more chrome than Max Mercer himself). With this fledgling knight I'm sure I'd just get trampled. :/

Cold steel, chummer. Cold steel. I took a job, I completed the job. Their problems are not my problems.

khearn - Seems reasonable. I guess under the dome is no place for morality, it just gets in the way of progress. :/

It really depends on what you want. I mean... Lots of Cash, being loved by Mars etc, all nice... But that Runner has a hell of a rack (LOL!) and looks like dat one Knight, so... That's daaaaaaamn nice, too. (Do you actually get that Knight walking thingy? You know what I mean...) So... All options have quite good sides. I, for one, would choose whatever option fits best at the time being... Daaaaaaamn, I gotta play this again...

Cold steel, chummer. Cold steel. I took a job, I completed the job. Their problems are not my problems. Many of my cold steel builds see that taking Eliza is actually a pretty reasonable choice too. This is because the negative Mars rep only requires a few months of working to get around; and by the time your Mars rep reaches -50 again, the Mars hit squads all disappear. You can even climb Mars ladders (the woman in the Mars backrooms) later on. To turn in Eliza, though, would be to give up a great asset; she's got the best skills out of every runner I've seen so far in the game, and having a fellow cyber knight as an ally sounds better than getting a mere hundred fifty thousand from Mars; even playing on Hard mode, I can gradually accumulate more money than I need anyway. So, in short, my reasoning is: Eliza is one of a kind, but Mars rep and money are easy ro accumulate. Therefore, steal Eliza from Mars and spend the next month getting back into Mars's good books.

Jacob - Lol that's pretty good reasoning too I guess. Kinda awkward (isn't Eliza only 16 or something?), but a fair argument nonetheless.

zeroed - How low does your Mars rep go exactly? I've seen Fallen comment that it's in the hundreds, but I've never actually gotten a solid number. Also, like I said in an earlier post, I saved all of those MarsCorp rep boosters, so maybe they could help make a dent in that negative rep? I kind of doubt it, but it couldn't hurt to try...

If I remember correctly, it was -150.

zeroed - Wow really? That's awesome! With the +15 or so from the rep boosters and a few odd jobs I could fix that rep in a day or two, maybe a week at most. Just to be safe though I may wait for confirmation of that number though. It never hurts to be too prepared.
