*Spoiler*
Alkaline, you could try E-Street Pharmacy down in Southie to pick up a V-chip for a taxi contact. I find that's really useful. The rest of contacts will come through climbing up in rep with the factions as well as random encounters.

To get at the random contacts a little easier work at maxing your rep bar for a group who's zones are all connected togther such as los val or blue ox,then just aimlessly zone through their areas back and forth confronting everyone who is following you and helping every person in distress,
Be sure to try to run away from battles if you get stuck in one so you don't hurt your rep...and note if you do this a lot your heat in areas where you have little rep will be a bit high. Also note as time goes on and your just hunting for V-Chips your rep will slowly drop for everyone...since your being unproductive.

alkaline - try the new backrooms (VIP rooms) in the 0.6.1 release!!! A lot of back-room deals, drugs, fixers, data passing hands, and higher-than-street Connectors ... its all good in the VIP.

When you talk to the people in the back of the Blue Steel back room, if your rep is high enough, and yours is high enough by a huge margin -- they will give you his V-chip. Check your inventory.
Let us know that it is there, because if it is not, then you may have found a bug. You may be the person with the highest rep who has ever got texas power's chip. ;D

You are in the wrong place. Ow. We need to not have named the VIP lounges backrooms.
Ok, exit the building you are in now. You should see it has 2 doors. You want the brown door, to the east of the one you used to enter the parlor.
OK, we need to rename things so that mistakes like this do not happen and frustrate people.
